Patch2's Adventures

those shoes ARE awesome and I’m not even a shoe person.

your plan looks solid…keep it up!!

Are those shoes Betsey Johnson? I think I may have tried them on once!

LOVE the hula hooping sooooo coool I would TOTALLY do that if there was a class around here.
shmexy!

I’d totally wear those with jeans or a little black dress.[/quote]

Exactly what I was thinking, but the glitter was rubbing off on my hands so I went with not getting them. I think I could probably take an old pair I already have an glitter them up. I love sparkles. I bought tights with sparkles in them though.

Not a shoe person, I just can’t relate to you.

Thanks, I’m trying.

I think these were actually Candies, but they do look like something Betsey Johnson would do. She sparkles like a crazy person.

I like to keep a weird thing in the schedule. Giggles while at the gym are great.

Damn! Those are some hot shoes, Patch! Love them!! Nothing like a great pair of sexy heels to elongate the legs and push up the ass…sigh…I haven’t been able to wear heels in months! I just started wearing some and my knee is like “why are doing this?” and I’m like “STFU” HAHA! Vanity!

Looks like you’ve got the pushups and pullups situ nailed down. Nice work! I find with pullups and pushups consistency is key in order to progress. Once I take time from either of these I detrain them almost immediately, so keep at it and you’ll see progress for sure.

And you’re putting in some serious work, girl! Love it! I’m with you on the weird thing in the schedule - lol! That’s like my aquarobics class. Its so silly, and so much fun! I have and will always be the kinda person that can’t take myself too seriously (now I wonder if this is a detriment to my training, hm…). I’ve been told more than once by ALL my coaches to either stop laughing or stop smiling, or have been rebuked with “what’s so funny?!” I don’t know. Training in any capacity is an ethereal experience for me.

The ankle made wearing anything with a heel impossible for about 6 months, so sad. I always feel powerful in heels.

Hopefully!

I’m okay slowing progress for longevity. If it’s not fun, I’m not going to keep at it. I have found that I need to put the silly aside for big heavy lifts, it really is serious business then!

Friday PM:I had a blast at the gym last night! I had no where to go, and so just took my time. It was just what I needed.

Spent some quality time with the foam roller, LX ball and stretching. It hurts so good.

The BW stuff has been demanding a lot of my shoulders, so I spent some time trying out different shoulder rotator cuff warm movements to see what I can incorporate on the BW days.

I tried Tumminello’s LYTP LYTP – A New and Improved YTWL!!! - Nick Tumminello Fitness and man, just the little tweaks he makes to YTWL are awesome. The way he talks about what to think was really helpful to me. It’s definitely going into the warm up.

I also tried these:

I didn’t really get the hitchhiker one. I liked the second one in the vid though, so that may make it in along with the last one. The band pull apart one at the end is fucking awesome. It’s going in right after LTYP.

Then deadlifts! I need to figure out what set/rep plan I’m going to use if I’m just going to do one lift a day and do that lift only once a week. Last night I felt like heavy and low rep and so I went with it. Can emotion just drive all my lifting choices?

DL:
135x5
165x5
185x5
195x3
205x2 - woo hoo!
205x1 - you know to make sure it was real

Sat AM: I woke up this morning and was barely able to walk. Oh sweet baby jebus the DOMs! So, I went to yoga. It helped so much. I’m still ridiculously sore, but now I can move. I’ll probably go for a walk later since I’ve been sitting at the comp all morning and I can feel my hips.

I saw in TK that you pulled 205!!! YOU ROCK!! Congrats girl!!

Hilarious the extra rep at the end “to make sure it was real” - love it!

And you’re right girl, big lifts ARE serious bidness. I need to find my zone…grr!

Ah so much going on in the log. Where to start, well first congrats on the PR on the DL! I remember the first time I got a chin up, I had to go back to make sure (unfortunately it took me 20 minutes of rest to do the next one, lol)

Secondly, I’m with MiM, shoes I tend to shrug my shoulders at, sorry.

Those BJJ moves sound so interesting, makes you really get in touch with your body.

Er yeah, I can’t seem to do push ups anymore, my shoulder just hasn’t healed 100%. I can hover down, spend there for ages, but hurts to push up. Scap push ups are ok though. So by all means do them for me too. But I’m just thankful that I can raise my arm above my, ya know, that kind of helps with snatching n stuff.

Hoolahoop classes sound the best. And its one of those things you can do as a party favour that everyone will enjoy, especially wearing sparkly things.

Just got done with some box jumps. Why didn’t anyone tell me how fun these things are? How do you guys go about incorporating them? I just kinda pyramided up to 20 jumps then back down in increments of 5. I could probably do way more, but was getting a feel for not just tumbling forward over the step. Also what stance? I played but it there anything ideal?

On one of my vids, BYUkid commented that I didn’t have enough intent. That’s stuck with me. Big lifts really are easier when you’re angry with the bar.

YES on the DL! I’m chasing you on that one.

Just saw your little post about how Chicagoans view the midwest, missy…as a chicago gal i got a kick out of it (and grrrr). :stuck_out_tongue:

Ha! I agree bout being angry with the bar. The bar and I always have a lil talk before I get under it.

Yeah, my grip took a lap around the track to recover. I think my hands are going to be the weak link.

Who are you people? How about baby animals? I seem to be on a baby animal kick too.

It really does. I found a buddy that’s willing to practice the standing moves and self defense with me. We don’t have mats, but I think we can still drill a bit. He’s a Hapkido black belt and has taken some BJJ. So, it should be fun times.

I’ll try to get in as many as possible for you, it’s slow going though.

If I had dressed up for Halloween, I would have used this as my costume. Sparkles and a hula hoop, it’s like the ultimate inner child mix.

I made a mess in SAMA, lol. I live in the hand and it’s pretty much how I see the midwest.

It works! I even tapped into angry face for the DL.

I had forgotten how awesomely badass it feels to go to the gym when you’re completely rested and fed. I slept and ate like a large lazy man this weekend and thus the gym was great last night and this morning. I really needed this weekend to motivate me through the sprint that life is going to be the rest of the month.

Sunday
Warm up, time with the LX ball and foam roller.

Then jumps! They’ve been suggested to me a few times, and I didn’t have a plan so, why not? I loved them. I put the stepper at about knee height. I played with stances, I feel the most solid landing with the foot width I use for squatting, but closer wasn’t bad. I tended to land in pretty much a parallel squat height, so then paid attention to stand up all the way, I think Dash called it ‘full hip extension.’ I thought about it as the follow through on KB swings. I think the landing ended up low because I also really concentrated on bending my knees and softening the impact. We do a lot of jump roping in bootcamp, and I find that I’m not a very good impact absorber when jumping, I don’t bend my knees and then things hurt in a bad way. I’m keep the jumping for sure so hopefully there will be crossover into other jumping activities. I kinda randomly set up the sets, reps. Next time I’ll do more, this wasn’t that bad.

Box Jumps (reps) 5,10,15,20,15,10,5
I walked a lap between each set

Shoulder stuff cuz I felt like it, and thought it would help with the super soreness I’ve got going on.

YTLP - I’m on real baby weights for these, like I have to go grab the pink 2lbs for the Y :frowning:
I’m going to call Robertson’s second one the wave, since he refuses to name it in the vid.
Band pull aparts

Then I spent a bit in the steam room. The steam room in winter is heaven.

A baby animal to make up for the wall of text? (Actually wall of text is pretty much my MO, I’m just on a baby animal kick.)

Monday AM:

Since I said I would, I squatted this morning. Squatting at 6am proved to not be so bad. Next week I do something more dynamic to wake up, otherwise it was good going considering I haven’t squatted in a few weeks.

Warm up:
Walk on treadmill, well really a mosey for as long as it took to down a cup of coffee.
Some fire hydrants and the opposite.
A bit of pigeon, fuck my hips are tight from DLing.
Some retarded frogs.

lbsxsetsxreps
Squats 45x5 75x5 85x5 95x5 105x2x5

What’d you call farmers walks, but just carrying the weight on one side? 35lbs two laps on each side, with a rest lap between.

Then my new old friend the steam room.

Another cute animal? It’ll counteract my SAMA thread.

Strong work in here, Patch. 205 on the deadlift! That is my lifetime goal, so jealousy reigns.

M: PM
A quick after work session. I really wanted to get home to give out candy.

Warm/Foam/LX
35 lb KB swings 4x25

A1) Inverted row 3x10
A2) Incline push up 3x8

Oh, and my ass looks great today! I hope this picture doesn’t turn out giant, sorry if it does!

im in here, stalking you!

Nice booty and frakking awesome workouts, ma’am
