Shit, I don’t even wanna be drivin’ when I’m stoned.

Me neither.
The last time, which was a decade ago, I was driving 40 km/h and was scared shitless.

People do not realize that you are not intoxicated , Marijuana is nontoxic unlike Alcohol
Well, this certainly explains many of your posts.

Marijuana has a ration from feeling an effect to actually dying from somewhere from an estimated 1:10000 to 1:15000.
Tap water is more deadly than that.
So either anything is toxic or weed is not.
We are not only talking death but the word Intoxicated is a derivative of toxic . I do and I know others that claim a heightened sense of awareness . Foe me it is purely physical . I can pitch a ball harder more accurately for a longer time

Most people drive better when they are stoned…
You live in Europe, take the subway.

How the hell did you even get into the car? I become one with the couch when I’m stoned.
Like I said this thread went straight to…
I am not condoning smoking pot and driving nor would I do it
I am not sure this link will work the way I want

Come up with a way to test for impairment at the time the person does something stupid (ex. getting behind the wheel of a car) and it would get legalized real quick.
Seems reasonable but this is complicated by the half-life and markers that are currently tested for. Some people will have fast metabolisms and it will be out of their system rather quickly, but more sedentary people, say cancer patients could test positive up to a month after smoking.
If there is some compound that can be tested for that is only active for like 2-3 hours after smoking then I’m all for some sort of test. Otherwise, if we rely on the current test we will be incriminating people for having used marijuana rather than incriminating people for driving while intoxicated.

LSD is totally non-toxic too. When you take acid you’re totally not intoxicated unlike alcohol. You just get into the groove and all the stop signs are green and red at the same time man…total spinout!

Dude seriously…there is NO comparison between LSD and THC.
You are smarter than that…its like comparing morphine and aspirin.
You are better than this…don’t let your childhood viewings of Reefer Madness cloud your judgement.

Not true. Someone who has never smoked marijuana before who smokes hash or hydro can have a full blown psychodelic experience. THC has hallucinogenic properties. It distorts perceptions of space and time. Regular smokers may not experience this. Try eating a very large quantity of hash cookies/muffins/brownies - a very large quantity mind - very large - wait an hour and tell me THC doesn’t have the potential to induce profound psychological changes. You’d fall asleep? Okay, fall asleep at the wheel. Whatever. I’m not arguing for government legislation regardless.

You are partly correct.
The probability of having an LSD type experience from smoking it even if it your first time is slim (assuming it’s just an average joint). You’d have to smoke an absurd amount of pot to have a psychodelic experience. So yes it’s possible possible but improbable.
However, extracting THC into a fat (butter/oil) or making a THC tincture is no joke. Highly concentrated doses of THC will fuck you up BAD. This is not an overstatement.
I had a friend who took shot of a THC tincture which had the equivalent of 10g of pot in it. He completely lost touch with reality for 3 hours. I won’t go into everything that happened but for a large part of it he was rolling around on the wet grass uttering incoherent babble. He was COMPLETELY unresponsive to anything we’d say or our efforts to feed him water.
So yes THC is classified as a hallucinogenic for a reason.

So basically he wasn’t fit to drive right? As I said, I’m not arguing for prohibitionist legislation or taking sides - just pointing out some facts.
Pat Robertson is jumping from the evangelical camp to the libertarian camp. Jerry Falwell wouldn’t have stood for this legalise marijuana crap. The moral minority is evanescing before our very eyes.

Any drug taken to the extreme will be harmful…drinking a whole bottle of Robitussin will mess you up, but the recommended dose will be just fine.
As with alcohol and cigarettes (legal) moderation is key…but why is one legal and the other not?
/I know you are not arguing against legalization, but the other sides argument is ridiculous…the cost per unit effort to keep weed illegal is one of the biggest money wasters in our society.
UtahLama wrote:

Sure. Or abstinence. Personal responsibility is the key. You can’t really legislate that.
