Partner Help to Replace Weight Releasers?

Hi coach, I still don’t have weight releasers, but now I have a good lifting partner!

I was wondering then if, for instance I were to do a 300lbs squat with 60lbs on the releasers, doing the eccentric only with 360lbs, getting good help from my partner to get up, then strip away the 60lbs and do my 300lbs rep would be an okay replacement?

The alternative to weight releasers is to squat in a power rack.

Load the bar with your concentric weight (300 for example), put safety collars, then add the 30lbs per side out side of the collars.

Set the safety pins inside the power rack so that they are slightly higher than your full squat.

Do the eccentric all the way until the bar is on the safety pins. Then get off from under the bar and unload the extra 30lbs on one side while your partner unloads the 30 on the other side.

Get back under the bar, squat the bar up back to the j-hooks, add the 60lbs back and go again.

NOTE: because you are doing a pure concentric squat you might need to use less weight on the concentric, you can adjust by adding extra weight for the eccentric.
