Makes you wonder who the hell decides to parole someone like that.
Members on a parole board.
Definitely a tragedy.
I’m sure there are those that feel if the cop’s weren’t harassing this poor citizen none of this ever would have happened. Thoughts and prayers go out to these officers families.
The second amendment has nothing to do with hunting or sport shooting.
The right of the people to own arms shall not be infringed.
Thats all there is to it. No other meaning other then that. Attempting to give it meaning and guess what was meant is the first step to chipping away at it.

Off topic, but this just means your education isn’t worth what you paid for it.

You are an absolute moron who seems to spend all day being incendiary on this website.
And spare us any attempt at a justifying that nonsense with a deeper philosophical point. I have read the Book of 5 Rings enough times to understand the implications of “playing with guns”.

It’s usually only the problem suspects that end up a victim of force. i’ve been arrested before for underage drinking…i didn’t get shot or tasered. My friends got held at gunpoint by the cops in a case of mistaken identity. They shut the fuck up and listened to what they were told. no one got shot or killed. Do you see a pattern here?
It’s usually some guy with a chip on his shoulder is probably high on some shit and causing trouble.
if that black guy didn’t shoot any of those cops, say all his bullets had missed, but he ended up getting shot anyways, there would be a different set of problems in the media right now.

“From inside fortifications the gun has no equal among weapons. It is the supreme weapon on the field before the ranks clash, but once swords are crossed the gun is useless.”
If Musashi had ever fought with a .45 in his other hand instead of a wakizashi, he might have had a different opinion.

Maybe we can burn down some liquor stores owned by Pakistanis.

I fully understand and agree with you. I’m only pointing to some past arguments and how to refute them.

Agreed. I am not a police officer, but I do carry a gun for self defense with a concealed carry permit. I do not play with guns. I practice marksmanship. I have taken course work on lawful self defense with guns.
My training is to insure I live if I face a lethal encounter and the other person dies. and believe it or not, some private citizens can outshoot most police officers, not all, but the lower level just qualifying guy is not very ready for a street encounter.
When we qualified we had to do it on triple time, which ws still not that fast.

Fine, Sri Lankans, then. It’s all the same to me.
It makes at least as much sense as burning down Korean-owned liquor stores to protest a black man getting beaten by four white cops.

Heh, gotcha. I’m pretty dense, so you’ll have to excuse me for not catching on to your point at first.

It really is too bad about the policemen. The first two who were shot at the traffic stop probably couldn’t have done much to save themselves, but the SWAT team members killed kind of raises questions in my mind.
Questions like, weren’t these folks wearing body armor? If so, then Lovelle Mixon was either using a serious rifle (.30 caliber), was using armor-piercing ammunition in a poodle-shooter, or else was a good enough shooter to pull off two headshots.

My heart was pounding reading this because a childhood friend of mine is an Oakland cop. One thing I remember him telling me is that a bullet proof vest has never saved an Oakland Cop.
He said that every time they always got hit in the head, neck or through the side of the vest. He even described one incidence where an officer was chasing a perp on foot. The criminal reached back without even looking and fired hitting the officer in the neck.

No, what it means is that the job market has contracted, and I’m stuck on a housing lease for half a year in a dead area with a hiring freeze. Biochemistry and research never goes out of style.

Considering that John Hege, (the second cop who was shot, presumably with a handgun, and the last to die) died of “brain damage,” this third possibility is not an unreasonable supposition.
The thing that really bothers me about this is the political ramifications: another multiple homicide committed by a sociopath with a semi-automatic rifle, so close on the heels of what is already being branded as the “Alabama Assault Rifle Massacre”.
How long before this tragic crime will be twisted into a cynical campaign calling for a ban of “deadly cop-killing assault weapons?”

I’m guessing that as he was on parole the gun wasn’t legal anyway so not sure what the argument would be from the anti gun lobby.
