when Branch looked young

Mat’

Rusty Jeffers, near 50 years old in this video. No palumboism.

Even Suprman’s got it!

I’m fairly certain it is a result of extensive periods of highly elevated growth hormones. We didn’t see it before growth hormones entered bodybuilding and I’ve never known of a natty to develop Palumboism: so that would rule out the cause being due to prolonged micro trauma to the musculature. I read about a genetic disease resulting from diminished growth hormone and how it caused muscle wastage and accumulation of fats around the waistline.

The images that demonstrated the disease looked very similar in shape to those bodybuilders who have developed ‘Palumboism’ so I wonder if these guys have developed GH insensitivity? Unfortunately I can’t remember what the name of the disease was. If I can find it I will post it up here.

From my anecdotal evidence and speaking to guys who are in the know, it seems plumboism is coming about from EXTREMELY high doses of GH and prolonged insulin use. I have it on decent authority that Kai was using upwards of 60-75 iu’s a day of growth going into this last Olympia.

Yup, guys have been using GH for a good deal longer than slin, I’d bet it is a combination of the two for long periods of time that contribute most. Is there anyone who has or had palumboism who only used GH? I can’t think of any.

Comes from a guy who grew up with him in the same neighborhood and still talks to him on a monthly basis. And those insane amounts were starting roughly 4 weeks out. Before that it was 30ish a day starting roughly 15 weeks out.

Might be yanking my chain, but he’s not one to spout bs, usually.

I certainly do not want to offer conflicting info but I’ve just spent a few hours helping a semi pro get ready for a contest here in LA and to keep his mind occupied (he gets extremely nervous) I talk to him about all kinds of bodybuilding subjects. Palumboism came up and he said it was because of site injections. He’s seen guys put 3-6 cc’s in their triceps, biceps, calves, forearms and of course shoulders. According to him it’s the scar tissue that results from that insane practice that over time causes this ‘look’. He’s won quite a few contests in the last couple of years and talks regularly to some of the pros and that’s what they think.

take it for what it’s worth. Makes more sense to me than GH or Insulin. Neither of those cause nerve and muscle damage.

Could very well be, but doesn’t insulin and GH contribute to the endocrine system becoming wacked out and causing the look also or possibly?

Might account for the condition of the limbs, but I don’t see how that scar tissue would have an effect on the waist, other than the relative proportions of various body parts.

I guess, if we put it all together, it could be that the site injections cause the limbs to look like this and the GH abuse causes the abdominal area to deform. I’m not sure how insulin would play into this but I could see where the crazy amount of site injections combined with GH could cause this look,

Also, I actually wasn’t surprised when Bauer mentioned that Kai used that much GH. I know one guy that has used up to 50 i.u. a day for 30 days at a time (getting ready for a physique contest). Not the guy I was referring to earlier but he too had heard of outrageous amounts used by some guys in the last 30 days. He sells the kits so I am inclined to believe what he says.

fair enough mate, if the guy’s a friend of yours and you trust him it’s certainly not my place to say he’s lying, but on paper it does seem pretty inconceivable.

Having said that, it’s a sport of excess, so maybe. Some of the dosages the kids in their teens that I’ve seen in gyms have been unreal, so I guess if you start our insane you can only get worse.

Trust me, I called him out for bullshiting right as it left his lips lol. But he maintained it was true.

Some of the dosages I’ve even seen friends take at the amateur level hAve been unreal. Synthol, painless pump, etc have gotten so prolific even at the amateur ranks thag it is ridiculous.

When you see guys taking 4-6 grams of test a week and having to do subQ injections because they have literally run out of muscle to inject in… just boggles my mind.

painless pump? is that some kind of injectable substance or something?

I trained with a 17 year old kid for a little while. He was at the gym same time as me a lot of the time so we just got chatting. Kid had an awesome physique for any age, let alone so young.

Turns out he had been running a gram of tren non stop for about a year!

Shit like that really worries me.
