Not exactly a shock, but it was one of those occurrences that wasn’t expected because of the fact that it is such a logical thing. And politics is pretty scarce with logical things.
I think it’s a wrong move.
She will be demonized even more, and fu** you if you think that bad publicity is helping her run for pres.
I wonder what type of show it will be, and if she gets partnered up with someone more experienced at TV schmoozing.

I think it is a good move, she has a large following. When people get to see what she says without all the spin I think more will come to like her.
Whats with all this nonsense about a pres run? Because most people either refuse to understand why she stepped down as governor/or don’t know why she will never become president so she might as well do this.
She would be a good voice for the tea party on Fox.

Dude she is going to be giving commentary, just like alot of people who are now regulars, but from a conservative point of view. They have liberals that give commentary as well. Where’s the spin?

Agreed. It’s a terrible move that exposes her to a lot of potential pitfalls. And gives people another reason to hate Fox. It’s like Pat Buchanan—he’s right on just a couple things but fuck if I’m going to admit it because he carries too much political baggage and is too far wrong with the rest of of his career/life/platform for me to want to be associated in any way with him.
Fox may be a reliable news source (I for one have no problem with its news segments, as distinct from its Commentary segments), but with the line becoming more and more blurred between news and Commentary to the uncritical viewer, this is cannon fodder for the large contingent of people who dislike Palin.

You’ve misread this miserably.
She quit as Governor to break into the media. She will never hold another elected office, whoever hates her or loves her is unimportant from a political perspective.
She has no intentions of running for President in ernest. Her negatives are far too high. We can discuss why at another time but the important thing to know right now is that THIS is why she left politics, to become an on air talent (as I said in July).
FOX knows who their audience is and Palin will only help solidify that demographic. Do you think if they suddenly got James Carville, for example, to do commentary they would raise the number of liberal viewers? Not at all. They are simply playing to their demographic by hiring Palin. It’s a great move, a brilliant move and one that was probably in the works long before she resigned her position as Governor.
Basically it was the media who drove her popularity into the toilet and now she could make a fortune becoming one of them, as a conservative voice of course.
If she plays this right and catches on via Beck, Rush and some others she can parlay this into a multi-million dollar media empire. If not she still has a considerable voice on a highly rated network making a very good salary.
Smart move, and her best move at this point in time.
Very savvy move for someone so, um dumb. I believe that’s the word the liberals used.
hopefully they keep her on hannity. that will insure i never have to see or hear her. i still enjoy a few shows on fox. hopefully she won’t ruin them for me.

i was disputing the idea that fox is a fair and balanced, no spin zone. they bring on al sharpton and black panthers more often than legitimate, respected liberal voices.

A lot of respected and not respected Democrats are asked to come on Fox and they dont, usually because they are afraid they would get ripped to shreds by O’Reilly or something.
haha you guys are so clever. push, you come from a state with 3 electoral votes; therefore, your opinion is only slightly more than irrelevant. also, o’rielly isn’t capable of ripping anyone to shreds.

So which well respectived liberal voices have not been invited to appear on Fox?

I couldn’t count how many times somebody on FOX has said
“we have contacted the office of __________ and they declined our offer to appear and defend their view”
. Dozens and dozens. However, they do have some takers to the takers credit. There are some rabid leftist America hating maniacs who show up regularly. Ivy league profs, big name pundits and elected officials. House and Senate members, staff people on and on. It is excruciatingly obvious that FOX’s loudest critics either don’t watch or lie. There’s even a couple I really like such as Dr. Marc Lamont Hill who may be my favorite liberal. He’s on O’Reilly all the time. He is an honest unabashed far left statist who will never leave you wondering what he thinks. I respect that. Practically every syllable that falls from his lips is insane, but I respect his unflinching honesty.
Obviously most liberals dont accept invites to come on shows like the O’Reilly factor because he will cut through the bullshit with facts. Facts dont lie and will expose them. Then they try to redirect and when hit with the facts again, left liberals do what they always do, argue with emotion and not facts. Then by the end you see their double standard. Again.
