This film smells so much like a childs movie that I doubt Ill waste money on it. All it will be is all the traditional landmarks getting smashed, all the typical “TEAM AMERICA FUCK YEAH!” and gung-ho warrior attitude prevalent in so many action films these days.
Fights go bad then they get the upperhand, surprisingly we win? Nah, wont waste my money.[/quote]
from this point forward i will only comunicate in this thread through the use of animated gifs in an attempt to stop from violently smashing my keyboard until Sunday when I see it.

This describes Predator, Die Hard, Aliens, and just about every great action movie from the 80’s and 90’s as well (minus landmarks getting destroyed). Yes, there is a formula. But it’s a pretty good one.

Did you seriously compare Predator and Aliens to Die Hard and pacific Rim? oh my lord seriously!
Two films involved the outright beatdown of humans (not the USA I may add) and the other was a cop in the wrong place but had a knack for pissing off German terrorists.
Die Hard humoured the overbearing gung-ho response however.

You’re a grown man with a hard on for a childs movie that looks exactly like transformers crossed with godzilla.

…and?
It is going to be awesome, I’m going to enjoy the fuck out of it, and no amount of shaming from some faceless dude on the internet is going to change that.

I didn’t compare them at a specific level, rather generalized them as action movies that have the same story arch you seem to despise and deem childish…
The main characters in Predator were CIA & US Army Specialists (AKA Americans). The main characters in Aliens sure sounded like Americans.
