P+F Meals and Veggie Carbs

Hi I have a question regarding Protein/Fat meals and vegetables.

Is it ok to include a reasonably large amount of vegetables in such a meal, or will this amount to too many carbs?
Or should I just not bother with the carbohydrates contained in the vegetables?

Thanks.

Veggies contain very healthy carbs, and can be eated without worry with your P+F meal.

The only time I would suggest against them is PWO, because of the fiber content, it might slow down digestion.

Yep I agree. Other than PWO, there is no way you can get too many veggies. Eat them with every meal if you can besides PWO.

when you are talking about veggies other than carb storing tubers, then i would not even bother counting the carbs.

I also have a question regarding the whole P+C & P+F concept. It’s just a minor matter thought, but it kinda keeps bothering me (for no reason).

In the Massive Eating, JB indicates that I should eat P+F meals until my workout and couple of next meals after that. On the other hand, LL suggests in his Temporal Nutrition that P+C meals should be consumed in the morning hours (and also gives good reasons for this).

My daily schedule looks like this until summer:

0600 wakeup, P+C (real meal)

0900 P+C (shake)

1100 P+C (meal)

1300 P+C (shake)

1515 workout, lasts roughly an hour, includes post workout nutrition (P+C, naturally)

1645 P+C (I just arrive from the gym, quickly consume whey + oats drink and take a nap for hour)

1800 P+C (meal)

2000 P+F (“meal” cottagecheese + fat, some vegetables)

2145 P+F (“meal” cottagecheese + fat, some vegetables)

Clearly there’s a too much P+C meals compared to P+F (though I manage to get about 80g of fat (50% in the evening). I’ve been slowly cutting (~2500kcal) a month and lost 6 pounds. Another month to go and then start gradually increasing calorie intake as ME suggests, perhaps to as high as the ME calculator proposes for me (which sounds pretty high, about 4000kcal). But we’ll see about that.

But back to my question which is, what do you think, should I strictly do Massive Eating style (though cutting) and begin to eat P+F meals till my workout and P+C after, or continue more of a TN style and also eat carbs in the morning? This would make me starve because of the small amounts of food (when compared to same caloric content P+C meal) in the P+F meals. Vegetables are of course a good option to go with.

P+F meal before workout, not a good idea (but why, I don’t know, preworkout is a lot different situation than post)? Though in my plan there’s a two hour gap between P+F and workout…

Or should I have have carbs in the morning and P+F at 1100 and 1300? Too much bouncing back and forth between p+f and p+c (can?t remember but this is probably the reason why I am no currently having p+f until the evening)?

I know I know, this is just sticking too much to details… but I need to have someone’s opinion on this. I also have though about to do Massive Eating as it is told, and leave tweaking it to future… but P+F in the morning just isn’t natural!

PS. One hell of a messy post, but thanks for reading. I actually made things clearer even for myself when writing them out. Naah, I’m just going to finish my cutphase with this way and then do Massive Eating as told.
