Overall, I’d ssy the two bands are the driving influences for 99% of all rock bands in the past 25+ years.

That’s a bit of a stretch, don’t you think?

If you are comparing evil Robert Plant is a poor choice from Zep. Jimmy Page was the evil one. Into the occult, black magic, Alister Crowley, and an addiction to under age girls.
I am with you on this especially since he let P. Diddy horrendously butcher Cashmir!!

In my opinion two different animals. Black Sabbath was more of the heavy doom dark evil beginnings of heavy metal. Great heavy music.
Zeppelin was more a fusion of blues, rock and roll, and funk. Zeppelin had more diversity IMO. Ramble On… one of the all time best rock songs.

Jimmy was the talented one too. Worshipping satan = otherworldly guitar skills?

Both mediocre singers backed up by great bands.
But I go for Ozzy, Plant was always a little too feminine.
Finally a voice of reason.

Ozzie was way more evil, Plant had more style. Plant was a much more talented vocalist, better sound. Ozzie is the original metal screamer.

Evidence of this? This seems like a fairly ridiculous claim.
Ozzie was more evil. Plant was way more talented, and Zeppelin was a much better, more influential (all around) group. Zep had many different albums that dabbled in raegae (sic?), blues, rockabilly, celtic music, etc. But Ozzie was more badass. Give and take I guess
So much of that “evil” stuff is hype though. Ozzy said onetime, of Black Sabbath, “We couldn’t conjure a fart.” He did bite the head off a bat though, but I think maybe that was just the drugs acting up.
