Owlie's Training Log

Thank you! I think its kind of funny that everyone now knows that whenever I deload its my big red river event.

^^^^^^^^^

Sounds like good planning to me

Your doing great work girl !!!

Jim

Bench Deload day
1x5 @75lbs
1x5 @80lbs
1x5 @85lbs
Dips
5x9

This was a legitimate deload day. I really can’t believe I went to the gym and did so little. I think I needed it badly though. I’ve been exhausted all day and I even took a nap. I got a cavity filled this morning(my first, I know, just another reason to avoid sugar), and it took me forever to recover from the numbness. Annoying. Ah well, I know this is just a temporary state of fatigue. It will pass, and I’ll be my chipper, nimble self again in no time.

Yup, your bench deload is my working weight. Go you! And, nice dips. Why 9?

hahaha because 9 is the amount I know I can for sure do for sets across, especially in this weird depleted state I’m in. I know it sounds ridiculous, but if I went for 10, I would have ended up going to failure on one of the sets.

Lord, I need something to shake up my life routine or something. I’m dragging ass. Sleep will help.

Is your period considered a bleeding problem? haha

Not to make your log all about bleeding, but yeah, at the end of the “big event” I am more tired than ever - I think if my body could talk it would say, “Hi, I just took part in one of natures miracles, can you please chill the eff out?”

Good work on the self restraint re: deloading.

I went to the gym for some treadmill time. 15 min of 1:30sec sprinting/45sec walking; 15min of steady pace

Couldn’t resist:
Press
2x15 @50lbs
2x10 @40lbs
1x10 15lb dumbbells

Curls
5x10 @40lbs last set drop set with
1x10 @30lbs

curlzzzzz

seriously you have to change your avatar. i get hungry as poo looking at it.

hot

haha, its just reminding you to eat your DELICIOUS eggs, like now

Squat deload day
1x5 @135lbs
1x5 @145lbs
1x5 @155lbs
3x12 @115lbs
Really, really trying to back off during my deload weeks so that I actually get a nice long chance to recover and feel my best again by my next heavy workout
sooo, instead of more squats I had fun with calf raises and leg extensions

Seated calf raises
100lbs
6x12

Leg extensions(first time leg extender right hurr)
25lbs each leg
7x15
drop-setted the last one to
20lbs each leg
x12reps
10lbs each leg
x35reps
They were crazy and fun and glorious all at the same time

Eats:
meal 1:
-1/3c oats+cinnamon and 6 almonds
-90 cal of egg whites
meal 2:
-left over chicken stir fry
meal 3:
-weird 100cal energy bar with flax seeds, its minimally processed and kind of dry and crumbly but strangely enticing
-apple
meal 4
-Protein shake with 8oz milk, 1/2scoop whey, 1/2 banana, gluatamine, and creatine(just started using it again today)
meal 5-CHEAT MEAL
-Phat Thai with pork and tofu(ate like 2/3 of it, I normally eat half)
-3 ginger gummy bears

I am intrigued by food which is described as “strangely enticing”.

Good job deloading. There is nothing as boring, but I take Jim Wendler’s word for it that it is important.

Solid work

Press Deload day
1x5 @45lbs
1x5 @55lbs
1x5 @65lbs

pull-ups
8/7/6/5/5/4/4/4
dropsetted the last one, had a spotter come grab my feet and did 15 more reps.

Curls
8/7/7/7/6/5/5/5 w/50lbs

Reverse wrist curls
5x10 w/30lbs

Also triceps push downs

Deadlifts
1 x5 @155lbs
1 x5 @165lbs
1 x14 @177.5lbs(PR)

Dumbell rows
2x15 @50lbs
1x10 @50lbs
1x22 @45lbs
dropsetted to
1x12 @40lbs

Good mornings
3x8 @57.5lbs

Hyper-extensions
4x25 @body weight

I’m excited because my back will be effed tomorrow after those rows(I hope)!!!
Went shopping today at lucky brand outlet and got some cute, dirt cheap sleeveless stuff-more motivation to lean out.
I’ve been thinking recently, time isn’t moving backwards, and gravity is a mean ole bastard as we all know all too well. Though being strict with my diet isn’t fun, I suddenly feel a sense of urgency. Now’s the time to get to a sustainable state of leanness. I just need to turn off my “food is fun” urge and eat like a machine.

good work on that PR Owlie I can’t wait to be able to make a few of my own. As for food there has to be a few clean foods you look forward to eating. My oatmeal and choco pp in the am makes me happy.

Yeah for the deads and rows! That is some big rowin’ – if your back isn’t toasty today, then you are way more beastly than I imagine.

All of the above is quite true. If you feel this way at your age, imagine how I feel about it.

“gravity is a mean ole bastard” so, so true!

best of luck leaning up a bit.

That’s my daily breakfast, and I know I haven’t mentioned it before, but I do feel passionately about oatmeal  I think its really the texture that gets me, but its one of my staples.

As far as clean eating goes, I do genuinely enjoy the taste of healthy foods. My diet is probably about 85% clean. The reason I said I have to overcome the “food is fun” mentality is because I tend to use food as entertainment. I just Looove going out to eat and of course portion sizes are so huge that even if I only eat half I end up overeating. I never eat fast food and I don’t regularly go for restaurants that are obvious dietary sabotage, but I do get Thai food almost every weekend and sometimes Indian buffets. I guess I just have to resign myself to the fact that I can’t go out to eat, at least not for Indian food, if I want to look a certain way.

Yeah, I love oatmeal too.
