haha…bobbling on noodles.

I must have missed the part where you are a swimmer. Swimming is awesome.

I used to swim in high school and I have the itch to get back in the water even though I KNOW what it will do to my hair, my precious hair. Oh well, it will be a very casual thing now, no meets to train for and I can take a break whenever I want. Anyway, today’s training went like this

Recovery Squats:

PWO nutrition was Thai coconut curry with chicken and tofu mmmm, it was from my favorite place and a new recipe that had tamarind in it sooo delicious!!!

I totally understand about the hair. I spend way too much money on mine to ever consider dunking my head in a pool.

7 @ 230 for the deadlifts is awesome.

I got back in the pool. I swore I would take it easy because it was my first time swimming(as a workout) since shortly after I graduated high school. Pride got the better of me, and I pushed myself, of course. Somehow this always happens during cardio. I have this voice in my head that says “just a little bit longer…just a little bit faster…” and once my heart rate gets up I can’t get it to shut up. Anyway, here is what I did:

200yrd free w/u
4x100yrd fast pace free-rest :15
6x75yrd IM order moderate pace-rest :10
2x150yrd free steady moderate pace-rest :30
8x25yrd free all out sprint-rest :20sec
200IM focus on form
8x50yrd backstroke fast but not sprint rest :20
500yrd cool down whatever I wanted dicking around.

Not too much yardage, but my conditioning is definitely down from high school duh. I noticed a marked improvement between the beginning and end of the workout, though so I suppose I will take back to swimming like a fish back to…you know…anyway, It was really liberating to make up my own workout on the fly. Much more enjoyable than a coach breathing down my neck. I may have killed my shoulder though. I guess we will have to wait until tomorrow to find out. Shark owl. Holy shit my stomach is RUMBLING. I forgot how hungry swimming makes a person. Time to eat.

I’ve have swimming on my list of questions for my next surgeon visit. Can I swim? I just do breast and freestyle.

Once again, the long torso comes into play. I do swim the fly. 100yard fly was actually one of my specialties in high school…well I pretty much did everything except breast in because I just didn’t “get” what it took to have speed there. I think I get it now though after squatting. If your surgeon will let you, you should see about doing some kicking workouts with a kick boardbecause you can still get a rowdy workout that way. Snapper gonna have some HUEG wheels!!!

Awh, thank you gurl. Your ass is ftw. I have a lot of areas to bring up(like biceps, the only work they ever see is during chin ups), but you know what that kind of excites me and gives me a lot to look forward to!!

My biceps don’t get much attention either. But I’m TRYING to be a good girl and have 2 accessory days a week where I isolate my biceps so they can be worked other than just in compound lifts.
