fuck all that hype for only JDS vs Velasquez?
i wished for Overeem and this is what i get. boohoo
I was disappointed too, but we gotta keep in mind that this leaves UFC 139 without mainevent, so it seems very possible that Reem might be making his UFC debut on that card, probably against Mir. I doubt Reem wants to wait till Cain - JDS is done, especially if he has already signed the contract and can’t go can thrashing in Japan or do some K-1 while waiting. This waiting is killing me, hope they would just announce it .
YES! Great success, nothing more to say, I get to see my nr1 favorite heavyweight destroy the heavyweight I hate the most, and it’ll be on the new years card! Couldn’t be any happier, now we just gotta wait till one of them gets injured and pulls out

for christ sake! NOOO!
that would fuck my year!
Hopefully if Lesnar drops out Carwin steps up and takes the fight. Carwin v. Overeem seems more relevant to me anyways because who knows how much longer Lesnar will fight?

I don’t Carwin would be able to standup to Overeem, he got picked apart by JDS who is a boxer, Uber is much more complete.

Seconded, +it would be pretty damn sad seeing Carwin getting smashed again compared to Dick Chestnar getting his face beat in
Carwin would get owned. If he managed to put the muscle back on and go back to being the kind of fighter that got in there and dominated motherfuckers with his strength and power, he’d have a chance. As it stands, he’s a guy with a full time job and a family trying to hang, skill-for-skill, with guys who train all day everyday for years.
Carwin would have a puncher’s chance. He has this against anyone on the planet. Against JDS I think Carwin payed for not having a good jab, and not having an answer for someone who sets punches up with a jab.
Reem would be a different deal entirely. I think Carwin still loses, but it would surprise me not at all if he “did better” against Overeem than he did against JDS. I do not remember Reem setting up combos with his jab. Even in K-1 he stalks and then crushes. I think style wise he may be more likely to let Carwin get off first, and even glancing blows from Carwins right hand can be dealt with.
Lesnar seems to come apart when any contact is made to his face. I don’t know if he could bull rush Overeem to the ground, but he would almost certainly have to shoot from way farther out than is ideal. If Cain’s hands were too heavy for him Ubereem’s would be as well.
The only question I have is how is Overeem’s takedown defense against guys who are as strong/nearly as strong as him?

I was watching all Lesnar fights this week and noticed that he didn’t managed to bullrush neither Couture, Mir or Herring.
Mir had him in trouble with some strikes until he decided to go for that stupid flying knee.
