This gets back to why murdered was in quotes. Accepting the rationale for why a police shooting was justified only happens when the person shot was white and/or a Trump supporter.

You can always find a person who will say a shooting was not justified. Some people believe there is NEVER a reason to kill someone. Even if the suspect killed a whole family in their sleep, some people will say killing the suspect will not bring those people back. Those types of people are the ones the media will air.
There are those folks that feel as you speak of. Any minority being shot by a cop (unless the cop is black) is wrong no matter what. There is nothing you can do to change their mind. I have family members like that.
I think the police usually exercise a great deal of restraint when dealing with people I would have shot had I been in that situation. Most of these shootings victims bring it on themselves. But the media will never interview and air my beliefs. It goes against their agenda. You need not let the media mislead you.
Defund the police? The media could have ran stories educating the public about what happens when police presence is removed. They could have ran stories of victims who were raped when the police presence went away during hurricane Katrina. But the media chose not to.
The distrust comes when you have bad cops doing stupid things and they are not held accountable for it. Then you get a movement with people jumping in to push their agendas at any cost. The media is out of control.
You clearly missed the quotation marks… They indicate I was mocking dullards that have no idea what actually constitutes a murder. Like when Mike Brown was “murdered.” Also… No riots, looting, burnings, etc… For an unarmed woman that was killed.

I’m in the process of starting a foundation and gym so one foot out the door. Tired of breaking my back and risking everything, including public safety, for violent criminals to be released like fish

Good luck on the gym as well, but make very sure to look at business systems, retention systems, and all the rest. There are some pretty decent sources of real business info but lots of chaff.

Everyone know Alwyn Cosgrove for training articles but his stuff on gym business is good as they’ve been successful for a long time. I found 2Brain information to be useful even if it’s crossfit box oriented in style - a lot of smaller gyms or studios have similar models even if not crossfit. 2Brain is somewhat repetitive on occasion but still useful, and Eric Cressey’s business partner Pete Dupuis (sic?) has a blog that has some useful pointers.

I support you man. Do it, to it. And mean while, don’t respond to calls where there is active violence. And if you do, just make sure everybody on scene is white, so you don’t go to prison for the rest of your life for trying to save someone’s life.
When you get a call to respond to an active scene in the city, drive the speed limit, stop by and get some coffee, chat with the barista for a bit and mosey on over after the bodies are on the ground. Then you can simply secure the scene and call homicide. Why risk your life when everybody hates you, when you do the right thing and your the one getting arrested, etc. Why bother? They don’t want you, don’t show up.
But DON’T enforce lockdowns, gatherings of 10 people or more or people opening their stores. And don’t arrest people who were threatened by a mob and brandished a firearm out of fear for his safety. I see that shit and it makes me sick.
There was a guy in Milwaukee. For some reason, BLM protesters were outside calling him names and threatening him and his property. I don’t know who called the police, but the cops arrested the guy who was in his own house minding his own business when this riotous mob showed up and he grabbed his shotgun.

I don’t believe this defund the police narrative will be permanent. Unfortunately public opinion towards law enforcement is at a low point at the moment. It’s a shitty time to be a cop, I hope this environment improves within the near future
A city/country without police (or similar, equitable bodies to enforce the law) is a lawless society. The dregs of society will take advantage, leading to a net decrease in societal health/wellbeing (particularly for minorities… Isn’t that ironic!)
