Our Current State

What does it say about our country when there is more outrage over a man being found not guilty than there is over the cases and people in the following article?

We Americans sure love our government.

Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master.

George Washington

Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples’ liberty’s teeth.
George Washington

The very atmosphere of firearms anywhere and everywhere restrains evil interference - they deserve a place of honor with all that’s good.

George Washington

The time is near at hand which must determine whether Americans are to be free men or slaves.
George Washington

Over grown military establishments are under any form of government inauspicious to liberty, and are to be regarded as particularly hostile to republican liberty.
George Washington

The marvel of all history is the patience with which men and women submit to burdens unnecessarily laid upon them by their governments.
George Washington

If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter.
George Washington

Few men have virtue to withstand the highest bidder.
George Washington

Discipline is the soul of an army. It makes small numbers formidable; procures success to the weak, and esteem to all.
George Washington

God, your country was founded by giants.

What the hell have you done with it?

If we elect people bigger than ourselves, we will become a nation of giants.
If we elect people smaller than ourselves we will become a nation of midgets.

We discovered we could vote ourselves largesse from the public treasury.

Says the guy who led troops against our own citizenry for what? Taxes! Whiskey Rebellion - Wikipedia

He wasn’t just the first President, he was our first great politician.

My opinion…

  1. I am a firm supporter of the right to keep and bare arms, but…
  2. If it comes to that as being the difference between oppression and freedom, we are probably doomed. A well organized group of Americans with the type of weapons legal in this country is no match against the US military might.
  3. But #1 is still better than nothing.
  4. Proper education of the electing population coupled with our freedom of speech and press, and the right to vote is our most sacred need.

Team America Fuck Yeah

I wouldn’t go that far. We’ve lost focus. We’re like Spud Webb. We look pretty ridiculous on the court… but we still know how to dunk.

DeTocqueville (or Tytler) was right.

From bondage to spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to courage; from courage to liberty; from liberty to abundance; from abundance to selfishness; from selfishness to apathy; from apathy to dependency; and from dependency back to bondage once more.

Watch. I bet it happens. Wanna bet against me?[/quote]

That’s an amazing quote. Thanks for postings.
