Hahaha beat me to it.
That looked painful, I guess 170 lbs isnt all that much for a 200 lb guy to pick up and manhandle.

I’m sure that David ‘the Crow’ Loiseau might take exception to that statement. His standup game is very TKD oriented. The spinning back kick he landed on Charles McCarthy at UFC 53 was flat-out nasty.
There are a bunch of professional MMA guys who have a background in TKD. It’s not much use by itself, but it can be a great background for the striking component of MMA.

I agree. I’ve tried Judo, Kung-Fu, and Tae-Kwon-Do in that order, and tae kwon do just doesn’t cut it in real life situations.

I disagree.
The Thompson-Aleks fight was great because, to someone unfamiliar with the participants, it had the exact opposite results you would have expected. The fat, sloppy, disinterested guy mauled the jacked up, insane monster.
OTOH, anyone that saw Bullock & Fulton standing in the ring would have immediately guessed that the guy with the 70 pound weight advantage would win. If the video just contained the actual fight and did not show the prefight interview and in-ring warmup, it wouldn’t be funny at all. It would just be another video of a huge guy smashing a little guy.
That’s why you got to do your GM’s.
That guy ragdolled him…with his veins all poppin’ out n shit

Weight difference, according to the prefight was only 30 lbs, and 1 inch in height. I will agree the difference looked more, but then again, compare a 170 Bullock against a 170 Matt Hughes. 150 may have bene closer to the truth.
I personally didn’t assume that it would automatically be a big guy stomping a small guy. I didn’t however expect to see one nasty ass slam like that and the guy being carted out on a stretcher.
When you go pro and your first fight results in you being carted out on a stetcher…its time to reevaluate your career choice.

Thats a rather bold statement to make off one example.

Any fighting technique where you routinely have both feet off the ground, and/or turn your back to your opponent is nothing more than a good way to get your ass kicked.

The thing about BJJ is that it’s GREAT for a single opponent, but AWFUL for fighting multiple opponents. I mean, while you’re clamming my buddy on the ground, I’m going to drop my bootheel onto your spine.
Kung Fu on the other hand, specificaly trains with multiple opponents in mind, as do other martial arts, like Aikido.

Yeah, and when you’re jumped by two jiu-jitsu practitioners that will be real useful.
