I wish I could get into sports, its such a good conversation piece.

I love watching sports because I like playing them. Especially contact sports. When can you kick someone’s ass and have people cheer for you when you’re done, with no consequences?
In Britain we have a thing called chavs, that is when.
What is that?
In 'Merica, douchebags press assault charges because they just got their ass beat.
What!?!
No self respecting holigan would ever do that.
Ever.
No.
Fuck, now I have to respect Hooligans too?
Dear American douchebags, please raise your standards so that I can look down on Hooligans once more.
Thank you.

I also approve of women’s tennis

It would be nice to finally have an America woman’s tennis player be good, and real easy on the eyes.

I was really rooting for Ashley Harkleroad during her comeback attempt in 2010. Alas, I don’t think she ever cracked the top 75 on the ATP.
But she did appear in Playboy!

I also do not know enough about any sport to talk about it.
I mean I watch hockey and enjoy it, but when they have the show between periods everything the comentators say is like they’re speaking Chinese.
I mean, aren’t you in China? Are they in fact speaking Chinese?
Ha! Thanks for catching that.
I guess it still holds true as I understand all the words the commentators say but just don’t know the subject well enough to know what they’re talking about.
I must add that if you’re a sports fan and don’t watch hockey you’re missing out on some great skill and athleticism.
I know I’m Canadian and that sounds biased, but if a German tells you chocolate is great do you tell him he’s just saying that because he’s German? Or if an Italian says pizza is great do you call him a lying sack of shit because he’s Italian? Well maybe…they make shitty pizza in Italy.
I never watched sports, and as a kid I got alot of shit for it from other kids. Was pretty much outcasted by everyone. That’s too bad. Most of those kids are wastes of semen at this point, likely attributed to the overly obnoxious bravado attitude they adopted in their youth.
DATS LYFE.

I may be the biggest Trekkie here. 6 feet, 255lbs.
Back in high school I used to shake the football team down for money to buy Star Trek novels. I mean there was one every month so I needed that money. They’d whine about coach saying they needed to eat more and that they needed their lunch money but those Trek books don’t buy themselves.
Once The Next Generation started a line of novels our team’s chances of winning the championship were down the fucking tubes. I busted up the whole defensive line. Coach had the genius idea of asking me to play, but games were mostly on Friday nights and that’s when the show is on. Moron. And I wanted to be rested up for Saturdays as that was my big squat day in the morning and calculus lab in the afternoon.
I don’t give two cents worth a damn for mainstream sports (football, basketball, baseball etc…).
Many a stranger has tried to initiate conversation with me about sports only to receive one of my two typical responses:
- I couldn’t care less if the team plane crashed!
-I couldn’t care less if the entire stadium/arena blew up!
The dumbfounded looks I get are priceless. Sadly many guys out there, in efforts to look/sound “manly,” will go with the flow and pretend they are into it. I prefer to be honest upfront!
On the other hand, I will watch Olympic Lifting and any combat-oriented sport. However, I don’t live vicariously through them.
One thing I want to point out which hasn’t been mentioned in this thread is that the majority of ladies I have dated have actually been relieved that I have no interest in following/watching/worshipping sports. Many of them have had to fake an interest in the past in efforts to appear more appealing to the guys they were with. They’re just thankful not to have to sit for hours on a couch or at a bar every damn Sunday.

I play adult beer league hockey and referee games for USA Hockey.
It’s an incredibly hard sport.
I’d rather play a game then watch one, but I do watch when I can.
I do know that I have played a lot of pick up games with Pros, former Pro’s and top level college players.
They’ll happily play hockey, take time to give you pointers, and have a beer or three with you afterwards.
No elitism. Just some guys enjoying playing a sport.

Yeah, after all, it’s all about trying to bend over backwards to make sure the ladies are relieved.
Yes. And I’m relieved that there will be no beer and wings-induced caloric overload bearing down on their hips.

If she doesn’t like sports then why even bother with her? There’s plenty of foxy women out there who like sports. It’s not like you have to be indifferent about them to do well with the ladies, know what I mean, Push?

Don’t forget swimming…
I like to watch womens beach volleyball for maybe 5 to 7 minutes or so.
NFL games put me to sleep like flicking an off switch as soon as I hear the crowd.
All the guys that enjoy watching/playing sports - would you say that your love of sports comes from your father or another family member, whether it be supporting a team or an interest in a particular sport? I only wonder, as my own father was never interested in sports either.
Glad I’m not alone, I used to like watching football but these days I usually work every sunday so I think the only football I’ve watched in the last two years was maybe half of the superbowl. When I bullshit around with the people I know its usually about life in general, women, or training which I find far more interesting than talking about some guys that get paid a shit ton of money for a game that I used to play for shits and giggles.
