Osteoarthritis and Low Test...

no she didn’t but my last bloodwork showed my test at 553 and she was freaked out about it being so high so I can see the writing on the wall there…I am looking for another urologist that might be a bit more comfortable treating low T.

Remind her that T HRT is restoration to youthful levels, NOT restoration to age adjusted numbers.

I will try.

I generally hate all doctors with a passion (after 4 years of basically worthless TRT), but this thread convinced me to get a BMD test. I have found one GP who’s somewhat decent, so I’ll ask him.

My E2 is in the low 30s now, thanks to KSMan and Happydogg btw. My heartfelt thanks to you gents!

Please let us know how the BMD test turns out.
I had no idea what to expect from this thread but the BMD results should be interesting.
On a side note, by chance I found a Urology clinic in Denver that is hiring a Dr. who’s sole job is to treat their TRT\Fertility patients Dr. Jesse N. Mills. Google turned up a few things but other doctors in the practice wanted him so I might just make an appointment to check it out. His first day is august 1st.

My wife brought something to my attention today…among males we are probably not the norm. She looked at some forums with female posters trying to help their husbands thru this kind of stuff. My own father and grandfater both had 400mg shots once a month and because of the fallout of the lows neither ever bothered to get treated again.
My last endo was upset at me trying to argue the merit of twice weekly injections, and on my very next visit he had done some research and agreed to it. So what’s the difference between two men feeling equally as shitty and one searching out answers and the other just giving up…
Just something rolling around in my head today…

Not all my labs are back from mondays draw yet but here is What I have.
E2 32 with max 54
TSH 2.76 0.40-4.50
Creatinine clearance 314 85-125
Creatinine 24 hour collection 4.2 0.63-2.50
LH 4.1 1.5-9.3
Prolactin 5.9 2.0-18.0
DHEA 204 110-370
T4 free 1.2 0.8-1.8
FSH 4.4 1.6-8.0

No T or cortisol numbers back yet.

Well at least you managed to educate your endo. That says as much in his favour as it does in yours.

Now he, through your actions, can help others.
You can only hope.

I can see right off that the creatinine is high but the lab took 2 24 hour collections and counted them as 1, so I have no idea how that might skew results…

nope.

…interesting results. A high Creatinine level usually means that your Creatinine Clearance value is going to comeback ‘lower than normal’, but you’re exactly the opposite, both are high…hebs

More results
Cortisol 76.2 4.0-50.0
testosterone 222 250-1100
Free testosterone 31.4 35-155testosterone free %1.41 1.5-2.2

Dcotors appointment in two hours, cross your fingers.

High cortisol would result in reduced BMD, though only if chronically elevated.

Thanks altered-
hopefully the cortisol explains why Ihave never really felt right on trt. Well I had one real good week on my first 200mg test shot…plenty energy, sleep, etc. Never the same after that though.

Disappointing…
She said my test levels were fine and that any higher and we could have agression problems like “that pro wrestler” and left with a script for prozac.
Top of her field huh…WTF
