watched the video and didn’t read any of the commentary. i guess you have. explain to us: what’s so damning about him saying we’ve adjusted as we’ve needed to with regards to this war.

glad you have people to tell you what to be outraged about.

It’s Orwell, not Orwel, ‘teach’.

I’m just not surprised by anything anymore. Next he’ll be telling us that he never wanted to go to war, and that Clinton made him do it.

Well, you monumenal shithead, the point was that Bush an his cronies hav ben parroting the phrase “stay the course” for years now.

And then, Dubya claimed he wasn’t all about “stay the course.”

You’re not hat bright, are ya.

And HH…you’re no one to talk about not being qualified to teach. I suspect you work at a provate school because even Ohio wouldn’t certify you.

I’m sorry, friend. I didn’t get most of that. What language are we trying to communicate in? Define ‘monumenal’, ‘hav ben’, ‘hat (bright)’, and ‘provate’. It’ll help me understand better, since I’m not that bright.

Also, try not get married to words and phrases. Try to understand the MEANING and context of said words and phrases, even if you can’t spell or pronounce them.

I hope you spelled that wrong on purpose.

Anyway, when the Bush administration uses the phrase “stay the course” dozens of times, then tries to say “we’ve never been stay the course” it makes people wonder what the hell they’re talking about. At the very least, it’s reflective of lousy communication and poor leadership. (i.e. get your shit together)

It depends on what your definition of “stay the course” is.

Fully certified, Masters in Math Ed from a Big 10 school. I’ll soon be taking the exam for highly qualified, which gets me a raise. Seeing how I caught and corrected an error in the certification test and got the top score IN THE STATE, I think that exam will be a breeze.

And Hack is correct, man. Were you stoned or something when you wrote your response?

BTW: Harris, its fun arguing with you. Please post more. I miss it when you write ‘Stupidest Post Ever!’. It cracks me up, bud!!

C’mon, the dude misspoke. Cut him some slack. If you had libs acting like little yipping dogs trying to hump YOUR goddamn legs all the time, you might blurt something out that’s wrong.
Whoop-de-fucking-do…

Which dude? Bush, White House Counselor Dan Bartlett, or RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman?

Wow. Correcting the spelling of others in the first post you’ve ever properly punctuated.

You clearly have a lot of big ideas and fancy arguments and you’re not a shithead grasping at straws whom no one here likes.

What? Your “asthma” didn’t keep you from taking the test?

My favorite:

“I just want you to know that, when we talk about war, we’re really talking about peace.” - GWB

War is Peace.

This is funny as hell. Like Bush didn’t have enough against him in the communication problems department, now he goes and says something even more monumentally f’ed up.

I know what he was trying to convey, but damn. Why the hell would he say “we were never stay the course” after putting that exact phrase in so many speeches? And his dad used to say that phrase too, didn’t he?

From now on, when I encounter somebody who lacks the ability to speak even somewhat intelligently, I’m going to call them “Bushtarded”.

Maybe Orwellian, but definitely Leo Straussian.

Strauss is considered the philosophical father of American neoconservatism. One of the tenets of his philosophy is that the elite of society have a natural right to rule over the rest, by any means possible, including deliberately misleading. It therefore is acceptable for the elites to tell boldfaced lies to pursue their agenda. This is what the Bush administration has been doing all along, not just Bush but others, who, when confronted with their lie, simply lie more.

This is not to suggest that neocons invented dishonesty in politics. However, it should not come as a surprise when they obviously sense no compulsion to do otherwise.

It is possible that the United States is one of the few societies that could allow this to happen on such a blatant level.

The point mentioned above asking “what is meant by ‘staying the course’” is, I think, bang on. In other words, the president is not to be looked to for meaningful information. He is the lead sales rep. I disagree that he simply “misspoke”. It’s called rhetoric. It is covered in tassles and bows and lacks substance. Of course, “staying the course” is an empty phrase that can be filled and refilled with the meaning of the month.

Now, “stay the course”, which has always been associated directly with the debate of keeping troops involved, is now being reshaped to suggest an alternative. Technically, it could hold up, but morally its disengenuous. And the real shame is that while people debate and gawk at the circus in the White House hundreds of innocent people die every week as a direct result.
