Online Trainer Help

I’ve worked with Shelby Starnes before. At the LEAST…there were weekly updates. Whenever I asked a question, I got a reply back almost always within hours…24hours at the latest. I’ve heard this from others as well. Great results as well. I’m just saying this was my experience.

He does lean gain, fatloss, and show prep programs and those can be customized as well. He and Justin Harris both are at Troponin Nutrition and use most of the same philosophies. From what Justin has said before, the other trainers there are great too.

Has anyone had experience with being trained by Josh Bryant? What about exmgq aka pullinbig?

Layne Norton is a natural bodybuilder, as well, so that may interest you since that’s the direction you’re headed. I, too, was searching for a new online coach a couple of months ago, and on Layne’s website, you need to email them for pricing and availability. Also, he coaches Ava Cowan, who is my FAVORITE figure competitor. Probably not of interest to you, but thought I’d throw it in.

Seriously, though, people have thrown out a few strong names for you. Our work is done. Now go research them.

So who did you pick?

I have used Shelby for six months in the past and all the comments are true, he responds fast and gets results. I first did a fat loss and then on to lean gains.

I would consider, John Meadows, Shelby - or any coach at troponutrition. All their rates are similar.

Norton is a little more expensive, not sure what he is like.

@punkguitarist - I would also like to hear comments on Josh Bryant. I emailed him a question before and he responded right away and seemed pretty friendly. His rates are the same as the others but also includes training and a phone consult, which is pretty cool.

If I really wanted to spend money on someone to teach me stuff/train me (i.e. everything, not just dieting down), I’d go with Dante or Justin Harris… Don’t think either of them coach people anymore though, or maybe I’m wrong there.

Dante doesnt take any new clients but SuperD over at IM is taking on new clients if your interested in doing DC training.

I’m debating doing it, but the initial 3 month fee is NOT cheap. After the initial three months though his price is reasonable.

There is a thread over at IM about Super D scamming people, check the dogg pound forum, straight from Dante.

Just read it… Man that sucks…

Yeah, I have met a dude who had problems with one of Dante’s fellows and scamming. Very uncool.

Are you looking for results, or just entertainment?

If the latter is the case, might I suggest Disneyland…

Shelby is good at what he does. Several people on this site have worked with him/are working with him… But it seems most of them did that mostly for fat-loss…

No idea about Layne.

He’s referring to bi weekly adjustments to the plan based on progress and timeframe. This is typical of prep guys (good ones at least). There is a lot more involved with getting stage ready lean than just “durrr no carbs durrr cardio in the morning”. Of you sign up with someone and they send you the plan and say “good luck, see you in 16 weeks”, then you need to ask for your money back.

I wouldnt expect you to have known that though.

No, he said “program”, not “diet or overall plan”. I responded with that in mind.
I doubt that he needs you to patronize him by explaining what he was referring to. If he felt that I misunderstood him, why did he not say so?

What’s with the attitude anyway?
I don’t think I’ve ever made any claims to being an expert on contest dieting/prep, or said anything about how all that’s needed is “no carbs and cardio in the morning” to get ready for a show, or that no adjustments should be made over time… Perhaps you can explain where that came from.
