I have used match.com and think that its ok. i’ve emailed several girls that seem cool and mabey they just dont see my charm but i think that most of the people that use these use them as a last resort. B/c if you hook up w/ someone you are going to have to tell your family and friends that you met online. Sounds unromantic. But i do great at parties and meet lots of fun girls that like smoking weed
drinking just really has never been my thing. And just like nate dawg said , going to match.com has led him right out of it and talking to chicks on the street.
because it wasnt her “best photo” i’ll try to post a “better” one

Dude do you grocery shop? Go to church?
Rarely and no. And really, I don’t like to harrass people who are trying to get their shopping done. At least with online dating, there’s no question why you’re both there.[/quote]
At certain grocery stores and at certain times, this is also pretty much the case.
My sister did marry someone she met online, and he’s a good guy. All the guys she met (and one she married) “offline” were bums.
As for me, since college I’ve almost exclusively dated co-workers (and married one), but not everyone has a job where that is possible or desirable.

Is there some sort of schedule I should consult?

Yeah… I work with guys. So that’s not an option for me. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.
There is a notorious “singles” grocery store in Georgetown. I’ve heard of it anyway – though I’ve never been to see for myself. If it’s as good as some people claim, it would be worth your making a trip for your groceries.
Ask around and see if you can find out about it… – I think it’s a Safeway.

Thanks for the tip… I’ll look into it.

Indeed it is. It’s the so-called “Social Safeway” on Wisconsin Avenue. Here’s an article:
http://www.thehoya.com/guide/022301/guide6.htm
The downside is that it’s in Georgetown, and seems to cater to a lot of college students who go to school in the city. For someone living closer (TriGWU, here ya go), it would definitely be worth it.
On a related note, I went to Safeway tonight (the local one). No hotties.

You may be to young to know of this, but on an early episode of Happy Days, remember the “Fonz”, The Fonz took Ritchie to meet “chicks” at the grocery store and recommended running his grocery cart into prospective hotties… may be worth a try for you.

Nice. I’ll be sure to send Henry Winkler and Ron Howard my legal bills! Lol.
And after you do it, treat it like a car accident and say you’ll need to get their contact information to settle the damages!

Too clever by half.
Here’s another reason why you might not want to date online:

Talk about modern Oedipus. Even the father was involved! Poor guy.

im actually online dating todays powerful image Joanna Krupa. yea i know…its nice. really takes the pressure off, i dont have to take her out to dinner, pay for shit, she doesnt call me 214 times a day. definitely the way to go
Online Dating…just stupid. Now its good that people have met and married and all. BUT
In today’s society, many people claim to have social problems and mental disorders that make it hard for them to meet people. Instead, some may use the internet to reach people without the pressure. You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You got to go out there and meet them first, not just look at a picture that could be fake or made up.
Vote 4 Me
Now if grown, social adults do it, its different. They’re mature. Now if a damn teenager goes into that before even talking to a girlface to face, well, he’s just shooting himself in the ass for things later in life.

Well what if you are like me and work 50-65 hours a week. Add in training, chores, errands etc that doesn’t leave much time to get out and meet new people. I have met some really nice ladies online (yahoo and match) and also some nuts but that is the case in randomly meeting people anyway.
At least with online dating you don’t have to deal with the “pack” issue that most women who are out like to travel in. Plus you know they are actually looking for a date and aren’t going to be hitting on someone’s fiance’.

Sounds like you’ve had quite a bit of experience with it.

I met a girl and we talked all the time, really enjoyed talking and hit it off really well. So well that I flew up to Canada to spend some time with her. The first few days were incredible, but things gradually fell apart.

or you could try this…
[in the supermarket vegetable section]
Eric ‘Otter’ Stratton: Mine’s bigger.
Marion Wormer: [looks questioningly at him]
Eric ‘Otter’ Stratton: My cucumber. It’s bigger.
Eric ‘Otter’ Stratton: I think vegetables can be very sensuous, don’t you?
Marion Wormer: No, vegetables are sensual. People are sensuous.
Eric ‘Otter’ Stratton: Right. Sensual. That’s what I meant. My name’s Eric Stratton. People call me Otter.
Marion Wormer: My name’s Marion. People call me Mrs. Wormer.
Eric ‘Otter’ Stratton: Oh, we have a Dean Wormer at Faber.
Marion Wormer: How interesting. I have a husband named Dean Wormer at Faber. Still want to show me your cucumber?
