Just realised you do your own avatars. Very impressed mate! What is it you use generally? Illustrator?
Yep, Illustrator!
Most of my avatars are derived from art I did for MuscleMag.
You’ve got a great style bud, really like it! I studied illustration in college but ended up in IT as it’s a very hard field to make a living off of. Sadly, I didn’t keep it up when I left and have had to make do with photo-manips and sporadic literary pieces for a creative outlet. I manage about one serious piece a year lol.

Do you have an online portfolio or Deviantart account to peruse?
Thanks Stern!

You can check out 12 pages of my art on my agent’s website.

The bodybuilder in the supermarket on page 3 cracks me up. Still looking through them but I sincerely hope you’re making a living with your talent mate. You’ve got a very good eye and style it has to be said!

Stern

Thanks. This is all I do all day… draw funny colorful pictures from my home studio. I make a great living and the wife doesn’t have to work if she chooses not to. I’m definitely not a starving artist.

Ahh kudos mate, really happy to hear that. I’ve known so many talented artists throughout the years who have tried and few, in fact I can think of only two that I have personally known, are anywhere near that level of comfort.

The amount of consistency, practice and sacrifice it requires is something not everyone is willing to do; the qualities that seperate us ama’s from you prof’s!

Hat off to you bud! =)

so do you mainly do commercial art? is this sold to companies for advertising they are doing? just wondering i don’t think i have an artistic bone in my body… stick figures are a challenge to me lol

Thanks for that link Iron Dwarf!

Now I’m not just saying this to be nice, but you’re even better than I thought, as we only get to see your bodybuilding type work here, which is great, but I think you’re other stuff is even better! Really great. I love it.

Also, I can guess why you hate (rightfully so) Phil Collins so much…he’s your evil twin!

Hey, you should be happy you got all the hair.

Thanks Stern! Well, I’ve been drawing since I was 2 and always wanted to be an artist. When my friends were out partying (teen years), I was at home locked in my room drawing and painting.

Most of my work is for publishers. Textbooks, ESL books, and magazines.
And I’m pleased that most people can’t draw, or I’d be out of a job! LOL

Yeah, I have to share a last name with that no-talent bastard. The only reason I keep the hair is to piss Phil off! lol

“You don’t have to be great to be successful. Look at Phil Collins.”
-Noel Gallagher of Oasis

“People fucking hate cunts like Phil Collins, and if they don’t they fucking should”

“Phil Collins knows he can’t say anything about me because I’m the fucking bollocks and that’s the thing that does his head in, and the fact that he’s bald.”
-Noel Gallagher of Oasis

LMFAO!

ID question since I love football can I keep this one? I dont know how this works but I really like this one. Would only be better if it was Dallas Cowboy blue.

Edit: And I mean like on my computer, to make as a desk top background etc.

ID - you do some sweet work. Is that portfolio of only recent work or the span of your career? I like the humor in your art and the portraits/character sketches. Good to hear your talent serves you well. What media do you use?

Thanks Bink

Most of the work on that site is from 2002 through to now. I use Adobe Illustrator.

When I clicked on that link, I first thought “Mark Collins? Who the fuck is Mark Collins? That’s not what I wanted, I want to see Iron Dwarf’s work!”
Then my brain woke up.
