On & Life Insurance Blood Test

I’m in the middle of a cycle and I’ve got to get a blood test for some life insurance. Anything to worry about?

Describe your cycle. They won’t be testing for anabolic compounds, so the only concerns I would think would be elevated liver enzymes (if you’re taking c17aa orals) or high blood pressure.

Sustanon 250, 375mg/week. Taking 10mg of Nolvadex/day.

I figured the blood pressure. Do you think lever enzymes would be increased even though I’m not taking any orals besides the Nolva?

The Sustanon won’t affect liver enzymes.

However, Nolvadex is somewhat hepatotoxic and is likely to raise the levels of liver enzymes ALT and AST, as well as bilirubin. (For some reason this does not seem to be common knowledge in the bodybuilding community.)

Of course, a slight elevation of liver enzymes is normal to athletes/weightlifters, which could serve as a handy explanation if your levels turn up above normal - as long as they’re not too far above.

Are you taking any liver protectants (milk thistle, etc.)?

You will need to be careful of your bloodpressure and increased blood cell count/ liver/kidney values

Your cholestrol [sp] might be higher too. If they test for that they could deny you premium billing rates [they did for me]

I had my blood pressure tested yesterday and it was a little high. 150/80. I guess it could be worse. Anyway we’ll see what happens. I’m using the policy to store some retirement money anyway, not necessarily for life insurance. I’ll be securing way more than the monthly premium so if the rate goes up, no big deal. The only thing that sucks is that your test results become some sort of public knowledge and if you apply for other policies, any company can view your test results.

I’m also taking 2 200mg caps of Silymarin (milk thistle) every day to help with the liver enzymes.
