On-Cycle Support Supplements

Hi, I’ve been doing light cycles for a few years now and I’d like to ask for your suggestions on what better supplements to take to protect my organs when I’m on cycle. Here’s a list of what I usually use (I use some of them even when I’m off cycle):

Liver - Livaid (I heard NAC & Milk thistle so I’ve been going with a safer option)
Cardiovascular - COQ10, Fish oil
Vit B6
Vit D3

Anything I’m missing? I heard about N2guard and it looks it has all of the ingredients aforementioned except it’s got NAC & Milk thistle for the liver instead which I heard could affect gains. Also on the N2guard ingredients list that I already take are the vitamins/minerals in my regular multivitamin, turmeric, chlorophyll, dandelion root, taurine, carnitine & black pepper extract. There’s a bunch of stuff in there that I’ve never taken or heard of like ref yeast, astragalus, uva ursi, garlic, etc. Let me know which ones in N2guard I can get separately for the purpose of steering clear of the ones for the liver that might be counterproductive.

Thanks!

Besides fish oils, has anyone ever done any bloodwork with and without all the “organ support” ? Like has anyones actual AST and ALT improve by 50% when taking that stuff on a blast?
Without actual bloodwork, i call bullshit on all those supps.

5% actually makes a pretty decent Organ Health sup. I also throw in some TUDCA and take Animal Pak and Animal Omegas. I’m a novice tho and only on my 3rd cycle so what do I know.

I take TUDCA. There is research showing fairly significant reduction in liver enzymes with it.

The study wasn’t about oral steriods though. But in three months, liver enzymes were lowered by 44, and 49% for AST and ALT. The study had 53 participants and none had any perceived side effects.

My take away is that one should continue use of TUDCA after cessation of oral steroids for 1-3 months, and should probably take it during use as well.

Revive MD Kidney RX Premium Kidney Health Supplement for Men, NAC, tudca, milk thistle, cardarine, vitamin c, vitamin d, zinc, magnesium, fish oil, coq-10

Hank is not wrong. With the exception of cardarine, my blood work is the same with all these pills as it is without.

I take them anyway.

All these things have studies. I wonder if anyone has actually just done AST and ALT labs themselves and can say “fuck yea, it does work”.
I havent tested anything, but i stopped taking all that stuff because i dont think i believe in it without actually doing bloodwork.

Thanks for this info

Ryr actually works

Contains lovastatin

Isn’t it the other way around? Lovastatin contains RYR? I’ve heard the difficult part is finding a quality red rice yeast supplement? Some of them have very little of the actual needed ingredient.

I get what you’re saying, but I think, for most of those supplements, even without any proof they still fall into the category of “can’t hurt, might help”.

Although there is lots of data to back up the use of many of these supplements on the average population, I don’t know how many studies you’ll find on AAS users

Yes i totally get it. Im just against the fact that someone abuses steroids and just takes some of these supplememts and believes his shit is now ok. I see this alot even on popular YouTube channels where some dude talks about orals and then mentions that you need to take some of that stuff for liver or kidney health and it sounds like if you take your milk thistle you can eat dbol like cereal for breakfast. My belief is that they either don’t do shit or improves the readings so little its not worth. If scared about those organs - either dont kill them on purpose or just go and do regular USGs

Fair enough, I get where you’re coming from with that. It sounds to me like you’re not saying “it’s worthless”, so much as you’re saying “don’t think your health is good just because you’re taking this”

I can certainly respect that. I misunderstood what you were saying

Mostly.
I am also not sure it does do anything, but the main idea is that people just take it and believe it fixed everything and use it as a health excuse just like bloodwork - “i do bloodwork and take liver support” for most means they believe they are 200% healthy because they did see how bad their bloodwork is even tho they did nothing to fix it.

No.

Red yeast rice is a form of cultured rice. The cultured rice contains a bit of monacolin K

 Ben man think about this again

I am not sure I am wrong here, the statin Lovastatin contains monacolin K extracted from red yeast rice, correct. Which one came first? The RYR containing monacolin K. So Lovastatin contains part of RYR, not the other way around.

That formulation of yours changed now. Now it makes sense.

If you’re interested: Lovastatin contains synthetic lovastatin. The synthesis happens through production in aspergillae.
RYR contains lovastatin. To be exact, the yeast produces lovastatin while devouring the rice. Lovastatin the drug does not contain parts of the rice nor parts of the yeast. It is made without the rice but with the yeast. It was also discovered in the yeast but as far is I know not in RYR.

Kinda. It contains Monacolin K, which is the active ingredient in Lovastatin, which is a trade name.

I believe it is found in RYR.

From the article “Red Yeast Rice for Healthy Blood Lipids—Who’s Foolin’ Who?” on EliteFTS:

Now if they didn’t use RYR to make Lovastatin, then I am not technically correct. But they are using one of the items in RYR as their active ingredient.

Fixed it for ya. It’s the same structure

Yes it is, but it was not discovered in there.

They didn’t.

They are using lovastatin which is produced by some yeast species. It doesn’t matter if they feed it with rice. It’s just that if you package the yeast with the rice, you can feed it while still preserving shelf life, so you can sell it or use it for some time.

Didn’t want to start a discussion about the history of lovastatin, your formulation just cracked me up as it implied that there’s rice in your lovastatin tablets :smiley:

I’m stealing this quote. It’s the best thing I’ve read on here in a while.

Back to the point, for what it’s worth I’m 37, take a shitload of pills - magnesium, m. thistle, D3, B complex, a multivitamin, fish oil, zinc, coq10, caffeine pills, some clonidine here and there (mostly for getting to sleep, it knocks me out nicely) - and I feel like absolute shit every morning when I wake. And I don’t mean your ordinary shit - I’m talking about that dog shit beside the curb that has gone hard after about a week in the sun and then steadily splattered and washed away after a few days of rain.

OP you want to know what the best supps are if you’re truly dedicated to this “sport”? STEAK and POTATOES along with whatever you’re blasting with.

Also for additional support, don’t have toddler(s) and a demanding wife/daytime job. Actually don’t have kids of any kind. I’d give my life for mine but if someone asked me 4 years ago knowing what I know now, I would tell them to shut the fuck up, pass me the handkerchief and look away.

During my studies I was super interested in clonidine and even asked my professor if he could imagine it as a lifestyle drug for people with very demanding lives. He said no.

Because of the Clonidine? One should have a good hangover with it.
