I was on a similar path as you. I was an athlete my entire life and was going into the gym killing myself and pretty much just maintaining. My strength was never going up… my body was always fighting me trying to put on fat. I got on TRT last year and my doctor prescribed 160mg of test cyp with twp weekly shots. In a year it has increases the quality of my life dramatically. I am now able to gain strength in the gym and my body seems to refuse to store any fat. My last blood work on 160mg showed my levels at 1450 total t and my free t was near 40.
Your doc is ok with that supraphysiological value?
He is… I was a high shbg guy and my bloods range between 1200-1450. I have had no ill effects in that range.
Started the injections, all going well. I was hesitant but the injections aren’t that bad. 50mg 3x per wk per MD, what are thoughts about doing twice per week? I’m doing HcG too, moving away from six injections would make things easier.
Little over a month in on 150mg/wk, 3 injections per week. Total test is 740, up from 290 at the start. I don’t have other follow up labs yet because of an issue with Labcorp and NY. Noticed some strength gains in squats, deadlifts, and military presses but some of this is because I am incorporating more workouts during the week so I’ve added these back in. Not a lot of composition changes in a six weeks. I was considering a cut but since summer is ending, and you know, 2020 blows, I’d bulk a bit through at least January. Libido slightly higher. Erections stronger at first, leveled off. Noticing an unusual decrease in sensation, I don’t know if anyone else has had this as an experience, I haven’t read it on any other posts. Other interesting changes: I am on lexapro 5mg per day, I’ve moved that to every other day. Just don’t feel as anxious. Not a euphoria just calmer, which is the complete opposite of increased aggression I was told could happen. Definitely sweat more during workouts, pump is greater. I’d say I expected more in the gym and on the body, but I’ll take the mental clarity if it sticks.
I have been running TRT at 250mg/week for about 10 months now. The body changes are very slow, at least for me they have been, but I will say that my waist has decreased and my muscle definition has increased to the point that it is noticeable now. I still have a ways to go in terms of fat loss, but at least now I dont feel like I am spinning my wheels. My libido has gone through some strange changes, from crazy high, to moderately higher, but I assume this was my body adjusting. As far as decrease in sensation, I am not sure I have that, but it does take me a bit longer to get to conclusion with the wife. This might also be because at the time I started TRT, my doc also put me on BP meds which are notorious for causing sexual sides. So not sure there. Anyway, be patient, the body changes come if you are working at it.
