Luckily my daughter said she wanted to workout today. As did I, but it was her idea. My wife said we could go early. If it had been my idea, it would not have even been an option. So, she and I hit the gym at 6:00 AM. We both cranked it out for two hours.
Merry Christmas to you all and God Bless.

Each morning, I get up and think this is the day I will get under 220. I hit 219 one time. I was certain today was going to be the day, but once more I hit 220. I’m working hard, so I know I’ll probably break through at some point.

I feel like maybe my strength is starting to come back. I made it under 220 again this morning and hit 219. I finished things off with a biker favorite, handstand push-ups. It’s been a while, but 14 is a solid number.

The good news is I am down to 218 this morning. I just have eight more to go. The bad news is I was much stronger when I was fat. I am going to repeat this next time out for deadlift.
I am a little more than five months out from my meet. I am tossing around changing things up for a bit. I’m a huge fan of 5/3/1, but perhaps I need to work on high reps for a couple of months to build the strength back up. For deadlift anyway.
Yay!
Excellent!
cable curls 4x25 w/140…. Monster for sure. I think that’s better news than the new weight.
Somehow I don’t see you as a fitness model.
I’m a lot too old and still fat. I thought you would give me some crap about the handstand push-ups.

You must be feeling guilty about not doing handstand pushups at 218. You already know pullups are certainly easier at that weight.

That’s what Weighted Walk Wednesday is all about. Today was the best I have felt for one in a while. It was 35 degrees at workout time, and I’m just stupid enough to be out there in shorts and a sleeveless shirt. It was a nice way to finish the year.

The first one of the new year. I hit a new weight loss low this morning. 215. I was looking at my fitness app, and I was 262 one year ago. That’s 47 pounds. 210 has been my goal by the time I retire at the end of next month. I think it’s in reach. I’ll then look at where I’m at and how I feel. Perhaps 205 by my meet in May.

I’m heading to Florida on Tuesday for a conference. My wife and I are already stressing about diet and working out. Between the two of us we are down 75 pounds. I’ll be taking my workout shorts for some treadmill action before the daily meetings. We’ll probably get some walking around town done as well.
I went to the doctor today and he said we can start weening me off my high blood pressure pill. He’s lowering the dose and if that works out, I can probably stop taking it all together. Plus, once I stop working a lot of stress goes away too.
