Not a whole lot of juice in the legs tonight. I am still feeling yesterday’s deadlifts.
On the bright side my mentor, Les, is coming to do walks with me next week. He’s a former co-worker, who is now retired. He’s been powerlifting since the mid 80s. He convinced me to go to my first show 10 years ago. This will be our second annual Weighted Walk Monday at my house. We did it last year too. Les is 70 and super strong.
We want video!
700 steps @ 200 lbs day after deadlifts. Tell Les I’ll be praying for him.
Maybe he’ll motivate me to resume sandbag work.
Ha. Thanks guys. We’ll take some pictures for sure. Les and I were texting last night. He’s pretty fired up. He said he can’t lift the sandbags, so he’s bringing his own gear.

That was a fast one. I need to go back to work to issue some awards for some people on nights.
Ask Les about his workout frequency and what he thinks of consecutive full body workouts.
My friends at that age don’t lift anymore.
I will. I know he also teaches martial arts as well.

I paid my entry fee and made hotel reservations for the meet in November. The wife and I are heading out of town to Las Vegas next week for our 26th Anniversary. It’ll be time to zero in when we get back.

Nothing too hard. I’m trying to save myself for walks tomorrow.
Saving yourself with a 605 rack pull.
Well normally I throw in some zerchers, and more reps. I have to put off walk day for one day anyway. Les and I both have issues. Tuesday night it is.
Les said he trains seven days a week. Mondays are carries and Saturdays are karate. For weights he does two weeks of a total body workout. He does one set of 10 for each body part. The next two weeks are traditional weight workouts.

It was strongman night with Les. It was our second annual. Les even had shirts made up. The sandbag was too much for him, so he brought his own 55 pound plates he walks with.
Good looking crew!

Back from Vegas. I took a couple extra days off work to recover. We had a good time, but I was still a little dragging this morning.
