Its fine to mix with your protein post workout particullary if you’re mixing it with something like Drive. I personally like taking it about an hour before my workout with some type of simple sugar as it boosts my workout performance.
What???
Unless one is sensitive to Creatine in the first place, in which case it won’t matter what it’s mixed in, water is fine.
High insulin foods can help with shuttling into muscle, but they are not required, and they won’t do anything to keep Creatine from upsetting one’s stomach.
If anything, adding a little sodium may make a bigger difference that consuming carbohydrates Creatine.

Every time I drank it with straight water. It gave me the runs. I stopped doing that. The diarrhea went away. Isn’t the insulin spike optimal for post-workout recovery?
How does sodium make a bigger difference? Can you please explain. I’m curious as to why?

Here’s a quote from David Barr, "Sodium is important to help the creatine get from the blood into the muscle. One study has shown sodium to be even more important than insulin in this regard!
While I think we generally have enough dietary sodium that we don’t need to be too concerned about it, adding a little table salt to creatine is both cheap and easy enough to act as a bit of insurance. One of the cool things about Surge is that it has a little sodium, so you’re already covered when using it with creatine."
How about u try it and see how it tastes,… and then u can see if u like it with ur protein.

Um…pop tarts? cookies? gatorade?? NO!!! unless your on mega T, you shouldnt eat that kind of crap in your diet. Use waxy-maze as your post workout carbohydrate. Good luck!![/quote]
The difference between Complex Carbohydrates, Sucrose, Dextrose, and Waxy Maize is almost irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, at least in my mind.

Lol!
Tell that to someone poor insulin sensitivity.
taking creatine with just water gives me mild diarrhea too! i thought i was the only one… oh mixing OJ with protein and micro creatine tastes all right and gets the job done imo.
I take Micronized Monohydrate, Glutamine Peptide, Bran, Cinnamon, and sometimes some other shit with my whey/Casein. Tastes like shit, but who cares. Its supposed to do good not taste good.
Only thing i try to avoid when taking creatine is Citric Acid. Supposedly it can turn the creatine into creatinine. Dunno if its actually true though…
I put it in my shakes, they are still delicious, all is well
