What’s wrong with coffee? I drink that shit all day. Starbucks isn’t my favorite, but coffee won’t make you fat unless you load it up with a bunch of bullshit.
I thought the same when i read this… just because you are in a coffee shop doesn’t mean u r drinking a double choco mocha frappacino with extra sauce and whipped cream…
But “getting a coffee at starbucks” is pretty much a heavily sweetened mocha or cappucino variant. A little coffee, a lot of dairy, a lot of sugar. Maybe one of every 15 customers actually orders coffee. Maybe.
Hmm. I didn’t know this. I always get black coffee or an Americano with no cream or sugar, except sometimes post workout I might spring for a mocha.

My usual is a skimmed cappucino. Or an americano, black with no sugar.

This one bugs me the most. Most of the time, I shut my mouth and laugh silently to myself at all the misinformation they possess by listening to Opera, who is the ideal figure for managing weight. (Sarcasm)

I agree with your points. And yes, I guess we all are guilty of those sins form time to time. I dunno its all kind of funny. Another example: I was at a party in Michigan over the summer (with a whole other side of the family) and I was talking to one of my cousins boyfriend. He was jokingly accusing me of being on steroids (I don’t think I have the build for that but I took it as a compliment) but the interesting thing is, he was completely over weight, drank and smoked all the time. Then eh went on with the "you know if I had the time, etc…I could look like that too). Now, he was working very part time and I have a more than full time job and two kids.
I just like observing life’s little quirks and the hypocrisy, or whatever you want to label it is one of my favorites.
my rule now is to never talk to anyone about training/diet unless they’re sort of t-vixen or t-man
Indeed. Ill shed some wisdom on other gym goers since I’m by far the biggest guy in the gym, which is ridiculous.
Anyways, I was at a conference for a few days and after the cupcakes got brought in, the fat ladies were all talking about working out while on a cupcake break. They were talking about what kind of workouts get you thinner. The lady that was running the conference works out two hours daily and lost a bunch of weight, so they swarmed her with questions (as she was eating cupcakes. She was still overweight by my standards). I almost said something, but I would have had to talk for a solid hour to correct all the misinformation and tell them all what they didn’t want to hear (consistently eating healthy and staying active). I figured it best to shut my mouth and shake my head.

dude, I prefer the taste. I grew up drinking diet and regular soda just taste like hell to me. Plus, diet coke and a shot of rum is 90 calories instead of 300ish

What’s the deal with flying and radiation. Answer me now!

It exposes you to it, more so then when you are on the ground. They ground flight attendants who are pregnant pretty early because of it.

I was at Costco not too long ago and there was a guy selling small batch, hand made butter from a nearby farm. While I was tasting it, a really, really obese man who I heard coming before he got there (from his heavy breathing) clip clopped up and tasted the butter as well. He then went on to ask if it was organic or grass fed or something like that. When the vendor replied no, the really, really obese guy said he couldn’t buy the butter because it was not.
I’m standing there listening, trying hard not to laugh. I remember thinking, “Dude, seriously? You’re one Snickers sundae away from losing a foot to diabetes and you’re worried about the butter not being organic? Really?” Does that make me a bad guy for thinking it? I didn’t actually say anything. I dunno, I just like seeing dumb stuff in life. It makes me laugh.
PS - For the record, I bought the strawberry butter.
Not that this is likely, but to play devils advocate… what if he was trying to turn his life around?

Is someone here really bagging on coffee drinkers?
At my job a large group of us go for a coffee break on a regular basis and most drink it black or add a small amount of cream. Most coffee drinkers I know drink it this way.
And who cares if someone drinks a supersized diet come with their meal, even if they are a fatass? Diet tastes better (I hate the way regular makes my teeth feel).

Exactly my point but I was on about the fatties preferring Diet versions of a sugary drink because it has lower calories but still have a hotdog, nachos, lots of popcorn and chocolate etc.
I worked at a cinema for a few years and saw huge slobs order diet coke because it has fewer calories but then went ahead and bought large Nachos with cheese and some other things.

I wasn’t hating on coffee drinkers, moreso the crowd who order the drinks with lots of cream in them but stay away from the likes of burgers, hotdogs etc because “its too fatty”.

Cosmic radiation is much more potent at higher altitudes because there is less atmosphere to absorb the radiation (us Coloradans get exposed to more as well). The average mREM (a unit of rads multiplied by a biological factor) for flying on an airplane is .5 mRem per hour, while living within 50 miles of a nuclear power plant is .01 mREm per year (Coal power plants are .03 mREM per year).

Good post. The kind of smugness being displayed in this thread makes me want to fucking headbutt people.

Maybe they’d prefer to eat their calories? A wise decision.
