If you want something run efficiently (I.e. cheaply and effectively) donāt put the government in charge of it. See the VA for a prime example.
Maybe some industries are purposely making some people suffer, but probably for at least 95% of business this is not the case.
I am okay with the status quo. I make decent money and have a roof over my head. I donāt need it to change necessarily because looking at my other options (moving abroad) they donāt look better.

Suffering is the human condition. Capitalism allows people to escape somewhat. Heās (@doogie, I think) saying that without the profit motive, no one is going to be creating the products you bitch about being too expensive.
