Oil Prices Go Down, Gas Goes Up

You do realize the key strokes on computers are still “printing money” essentially right?

When people say printing money they are referring to an increase in currency - it doesn’t matter if it is digital.

You really can’t be this dense.

Evidence suggests otherwise

So oil and gas industries are the only ones price gouging? Look if you want to try and legitimize gad prices, that’s on you.

No and who is getting wage raises?

So “gouging” is defined by intent? Who starts a business with the intention of losing money?

We’ve raised our starting rate 4 times in the past 2 years. Cost of living adjustment for all hourly employees 6 months ago on top of normal yearly raise.

Labor is a cost. Just like everything else with business, you need to compete to attract and maintain labor.

Making others suffer for profit is immoral. Is it not? When pharma makes obscene amounts oif money by keeping medicine out of the reach of most, in the U.S. and people have to suffer and even die. All for more. Isn’t that immoral?

And what about profit margins? if companies need to charge more to cover the price gouging of others, what happens when they charge more than to cover this cost? They use inflation as an excuse.

Then you are most likely in the minority.

If your company intends on raising prices, which makes life harder for people, when it doesn’t need to. Is there intent in there? Who starts a business to make life harder for the public?

Then use the right terminology so people know that you know what the fuck you are talking about.

It is the right terminology that everyone understands except for seemingly - you.

Like everything else in life. Does it hurt to suck this bad at life?

People will suffer a lot more if those companies don’t exist, and they only exist for profit.

This is such a straw man. Nobody is intentionally trying to make anyone suffer.

We aren’t talking about Pharma here. Stay on topic.

Again, you don’t understand inflation - at all. We have crossed this bridge multiple times - no need to keep doing it.

Like the pharma industry? So people have to suffer so that others can profit from the suffering. Good Lord!

So when Senator Sanders got on a bus in Detroit and went to Canada with a bus full of diabetics and got the same insulin from the same company for 90% less, are you telling me people aren’t suffering and even dying from this? Are you telling me that the pharma companies aren’t aware of this and it’s consequences?

Some straw man.

Are you telling me that the oil and gas industries don’t know the consequences of their price gouging?

Are you really that dense?

No, it is you that doesn’t understand inflation. You think “money printing” is the primary cause. What a rube.

It isn’t price gouging. Do you have actual legal backing to substantiate such a claim? I will wait.

Also, we aren’t talking about pharma. Pharma has done some terrible things and rarely gets called out for it due to their lobbying power. I haven’t seen anyone contest that.

I am dense and the rube, but somehow managed to outclass you in every facet of life. Makes sense.

@castoli
What you appear to be arguing for in all threads (which is off topic to this one) is equality of outcome (unions pay the same regardless of worker productivity, making a profit is amoral, there is a wealthy ruling clas that shouldn’t exist, etc…). This model has been tried. It’s called communism. At its core communism is what you suggest, a way of governing that makes all outcomes equal.

Except it doesn’t do that (nor has any form of government). USSR, China, North Korea all had or still have a ruling class that is richer than the majority of the population. Even killing millions of one’s own people couldn’t solve the problems (see Stalin and Mao).

Is capitalism perfect? Hell no, but it’s a lot better than some of the alternatives.

Who determines that?

Something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay. Value is completely subjective.

Go to google and search “original definition of inflation,” and see what you find.

I thought it tried to make all incomes equal. And that made up for the reality that all outcomes won’t be equal.

That’s just big tech controlling the information you rube…

:joy:

Oh, so now I see. We must have a legal background to know what price gouging is?

Try looking on YouTuibe. You will see AOC embarrass pharma murderer Mr. O’Day. Of course because she is a phony she did nothing about it.

Says who?
