Oh Looky, New Predator Movie

well your link didnt work so here’s a working one… Hopefully its awesome!

EDIT: Ok its showing up now… before it was just a bunch of text.

.greg.

talk about a downgrade. instead of the terminator we get the pianist. instead of planet we earth we get a pandora like hell-hole.

atleast rob rod is a good director.

adrien brody, seriously? he was good in king kong but dude was a playwright. couldnt they cast someone that actually physically )important) resembles an intergalactic warrior or w/e those motherfuckers are supposed to be.

^^yeah I agree. I think he’s kind of a weak lead for this film but he can act so who knows if he pulls it off?

.greg.

no question he can act just doesn’t ‘fit’ with the classic one. then again movies in that time (when the original with arnie) weren’t exactly good exhibits in acting and the lack of visual effects had to made up for somehow (the muscular characters and their attitudes/characteristics). So in one regard you say ‘fucks up the franchise’ but on the other you realise cinema as with nearly everything else moves with time. For the better? Probably, because movies aren’t a WOW thing like they were back then, at least not to the extent.

from the trailer it seems like they got a little bit of everything in their characters. The Spec Ops guy, samurai guy, good looking bad ass chick, the big buff meat head type guy… Like the “best of the best” type of a deal.

I think Brody could do well cause honestly his look/physique is pretty realistic for most SF operators… at least here in the US anyway. If he can pull off a realistic bad ass type character it’d be believable.

Same here.

I originally was disappointed by the casting when this movie was first announced, but after watching all the trailers, sneak peaks and behind the scenes shots; the more I think the casting will actually work. Adrien Brody is a pretty good actor; although he’s not the ideal lead for this film in my opinion, I think he’ll do a great job with it.

This movie will be terrific, I’m sure of it.

I have faith it will be good. Will it win an oscar hell no, but I dont watch oscar winning movies anyway. Also agree with the Spec Ops analogy they are made for indurance.

I am looking forward to this one!

I couldn’t care less about the muscularity of the lead actor in this movie as long as the man can act, then thats all thats needed, and Brody can act! Hopefully it will bring back some credibility to the franchise.

Possibly’ great direction, great acting, great storyline etc. I hope it all comes together…

I guess im the only one who thinks it looks like shit. Maybe its because every “elite warrior” here is as skinny as a prepubescent girl. It also doesnt look like it stays loyal to the fiction. I think hollywood has raped a classic… one again.

They just don’t look like “the deadliest killers on earth”, especially that goofy looking dude in orange who used to be on The Shield. Hugely muscular physiques may not be en vogue now, but Arnold and his crew looked like they could snap your neck. Brody doesn’t.
What I meant about the fiction is that to me it looks like there is fairly large group of predators (as seen by the plasma lights on Brody’s body in one scene) hunting this group of what, 5 people? Hunting creatures is a presator’s test of manhood, and it is ALWAYS the predator who is outnumbered - they simply choose to do so to make the hunt as challenging as possible. Remember in the first film how it was ONE predator against a team of veteran soldiers.

Yes Destroyedquads but, I read some where that the hunt place is where the young predators go to experience the thrill of the hunt. It is in essence a training ground for unproved predators. I read that 3 to 4 months ago though so I may be wrong, or shit could have changed. But even if that is not right you have to remember that the predators will act differently because it was 1 predator placed on earth for a hunt. This time it is predators bringing humans to their world to be hunted so they way things work will change greatly.

I also thought that it said that this sequence of events is related to a predator comic series.

It looks like this predator caught teh ghey
