Official T-ransformation 2017 Thread

Setting bodyweight PR’s while waist circumference is decreasing. Very consistent with lifting. Getting diet dialed in to reverse the scale. Hoping to start the 2018 challenge off well.

I’ve gained a bit back…

Getting stronger, upper legs and mid back growing like weeds (noob level stretch marks), body weight is going up surprisingly slow.

I’m small right now. Decided to do my next 2 strongman shows in the 181 class. So I’m waking up at about a 193 bodyweight right now. Trying to maintain approximately this weight for the next couple weeks before I water cut for a comp on September 23. Then I’ll have to do it again for October 14th. Should be an interesting experience, I’ve never done 2 water cuts right in a row like that. I’m very lean right now, even by my standards. I’ll make sure to take pictures right before I start the cut, and then once I’ve made weight.

Obviously you’re cutting water beforehand, but it’s SO silly in my mind to think of us at the same bodyweight :unamused:

I’m 7 pounds up from August 1. Expected it because I’ve increased carbs (still carb cycling, but the low days are a bit higher than they had been) and decreased overall cardio. The newly discovered post-workout biceps vein is pretty neat though.

Waking up around 192-193 now. About as lean as I can reasonably get for Strongman.

Ever notice how the strongmen who compete at <230 all look like bodybuilders 15 weeks out? It’s almost like lifting progressively heavier weights and conditioning like a crazy person leads to a decent physique.

I wouldn’t say all… haha

I can definitely say after 10 competitions I have absolutely not noticed this.

I guess my frame of reference is skewed by people like @Alpha, @flipcollar, @littlesleeper etc… I guess I’d have to qualify the observation by saying it’s the guys who take it serious.

But then most athletes that take any sport serious tend to look okay.

It really just depends. Some folks hold more fat than others, and sometimes those dudes are monsters. The best strongman I ever competed against had a big butt and meaty shoulders, but wasn’t looking like a bodybuilder. I remembet he would joke with me whenever I would show up lean about how much bigger I looked before he just stomped me in the ground, haha.

I guess I just can’t imagine what a fat AF 181 or 170 would look like. If they are moving strongman weights they couldn’t be that soft… unless they were 5’2".

Fuck yeah man. Your shoulders and also serratus tie ins are wild

Oh geez, I forgot that USS exists, haha. Turn outs for those weight classes are low, but they exist.

They aren’t fat, no, just not bodybuilding ready.

It’s really rare, even in the lowest weight classes, for guys to be at my bodyfat. Like, I never ever see it. I’m pretty sure I’ve been the leanest competitor in any weight class of every single show I’ve competed in. PLENTY of fat 230 guys, less fat 200 guys, and then the 181/175 are generally lean, although I’ve even seen 175 guys with a fair bit of fat compete, and compete well! Granted, that means they’re likely 5’5 or 5’6.
