Not really a progress pic. But it’s in a tnation shirt so I had to share. Just me and my narrow shoulders.

So, how few carbs do you need to eat to be considered on a Ketogenic diet? Do you have to consume literally zero carbs? I’ve had 48 carbs today. 16 are from broccoli, 4 from eggs, and the rest is from Kefir and Metabolic Drive.

I’m just curious how close that is to what’s considered Keto.

I think the answer is no. I’ve read that under 15 carbs per day is what keto dieters shoot for. But I think from a technical perspective, you are trying to induce ketosis. If you do this successfully, it is a keto diet. If you do not, then it is not.

I’ve read five percent of your daily calories. 70/25/5 Fat/Protein/Carbs.

Jesus 15…

This I can see as doable. 15 carbs seem damn near impossible.

Is it Net carbs (reducing for fiber)?

Edit: I guess that’s not that much more than 15 now that I actually did the math…

Ketosis is a biological process not a specific diet. If you really want to know if you are keto, go buy some strips. Even protein, especially protein powder can knock you out of ketosis, carbs aren’t the only thing that matter.

Gotcha. I’m more curious than anything else and I know a few people are on Keto diets with the goal of being in ketosis. I’m not sure I’ll try it, but who knows. Thanks for the info.

Like Deuce said, it’s not quite as simple as saying eat this many or fewer carbs. I got knocked out from eating 40% protein and 55% fat.

Saw 70kg on the scale this morning, i have a picture of the last time I weighed that. Lighting is different obviously but I couldn’t replicate sun going down in the Caribbean.

looking good, man. Delts a-poppin’

Thanks, delts are getting vainy that’s for sure. I’ve never had that in my life so I know I’m in uncharted territory. I’ve started to notice separation in my biceps, it’s keeping my motivated.

Weighing about 195. I dropped my weight for a few weeks after my comp in early March. Prepping for the next one in late May now. So back to 200+ I go.

If only you were a bad dude so I could hate you and make excuses for my lack of progress.

Well done.

Thanks guys. If you think I look good now, just wait until I get my clavicle-lengthening surgery! My arms may fall off, but that extra 1/2" of width will be SO WORTH IT.

I suppose it’d be 7-9%. It’s such hard thing to guess with so much misinformation out there, but based on all the observations I’ve made over the years, that seems like a fair number, if we’re assuming a bodybuilding stage-ready physique is in the 4ish range.

Awesome and thank you. That is where I NEED to get to and hearing your assessment I think my assessments are not too far off.

I was really afraid you would say something like 9-11% and I would be like AAAGHHHHH because that would make me the 12-14% hahahaaa.

I think I am in the 10-11% range.

And I walked by the ledge, sat on it, and walked away
