Still fat…
Nope!
Not even close. I’m need to start dialing things in for these next 12 weeks and I think I’ll be taking a stab at a more bodybuilding approach to my usual 5/3/1. I’m hoping that the higher volume and increased TUT can help promote some additional fat loss while maintaining muscle.
My goal is to see 189lbs on the scale. I have been fluctuating between 207-209lbs over the past week. Need to start aiming for that 1.5lb/week loss for the remainder of the transformation…yikes.
So apparently I did want it to be social (wifey’s choice) so we went to Sushi which kind of fits my macros anyways where I had 4 pieces, was full and had another 9 pieces.
We then went for cupcakes.
Magically I woke up at 93.5kg which was what I woke up the day before.
Wifey “Are both of those for you”
Me “uh yea, if you want one get 2”
Wifey “I thought you would share”
Me “You should know me better than that”
CUTLIFE
Shit back to serious AF!
MAY THE PROGRESS BE WITH US!!!
How does sushi qualify as a ‘cheat meal’? Maybe I’m misunderstanding the concept of cheat meal? I would eat sushi every damn day if I could afford it. It’s such a healthy option. Macro profile is outstanding, fresh, high quality fish… vegetable…and you can just get sashimi if you’re shooting for a low carb outing. Seriously, sushi is perfect in every way for most physique goals.
I tend to think of a cheat meal as like a burger with crazy toppings and fries or something. Or like fried chicken. Or dessert.
In my fat guy brain. That’s an appetizer. Barely.
“it” moved when I saw your photo hahaha
For me cheat meals are anything that take me over daily calories. Completely agree on sushi being awesome BB/Strength athlete food.
of course you ate that solo. It’s a regular sized meal.
Not to hop on the train with flipcollar to complain about your portion size, but I’ve eaten 20+ sushi rolls in a sitting. On multiple occasions. I miss my all you can eat sushi bar…
I’ve eaten plates and plates and plates of sushi going to @The_Mighty_Stu’s for the pre-prep meal at Minado’s, all you can eat with at least 20 different kinds of rolls. Dammit I want sushi now…
Haha. I just re-read my post. I meant that to botslayers 13 pieces. I’m more limited by my ability to pay for it than I am actually eating. Although, there’s apparently an all you can eat in Portland.
Should we have a tnation sushi eating contest post June 1? I’ll start saving up now.
How expensive is the stuff you guys are eating?
Sushi lunch special for like $11 at several places around here. Probably only about half the food on the plate Chris posted, but usually comes with a small seaweed salad and some soup. I’m stuffed by the end of it.
Cheaper than getting a burger and fries as most places.
Each roll was $12-16
Do Japanese people look on in horror at the amount of sushi you guys eat? Or is it normal to put that much away for everyone?
They’re usually pretty excited and bring out free shit, like tempura.
Horrified is probably an accurate description. I can eat it faster than the guy can make it. ![]()
Sushi place near my home town did all you can eat lunch for $15. They made this deep fried cheesy rice sushi roll that blew my mind.
Just to touch back on this, I’d say yes and no. Snapping pics tomorrow, but the scale is “only” down about 5 pounds. I remember Mighty Stu or some other smart dude once saying something along the lines of “You can only get away with the ‘recomping’ excuse for so long. If you’re trying to get shredded, the scale has to start moving down consistently at some point.”
So I think I like where I’m at, appearance-wise, but I still need to keep on pace while getting the scale to move in the right direction.
I generally pay too much for sushi probably. most of the places i go, you can expect to pay 10-18 bucks per special roll, a few bucks less for the basic ones. I can easily spend 50+ bucks anytime I got out for sushi, by myself. There’s a place that doesn’t suck that does like 25 or 30 all you can eat a few nights a week. That’s definitely the cheapest I’m willing to do. I’m not gonna eat cheap sushi.
At the higher end restaurants, you can expect to spend 20+ per roll. I do not go to those places on an empty stomach.
