Anyone care to trade an outfielder for some pitching? Please? Pretty please?

My outfield blows ass, Griffey Jr. is the best I’ve got. How’s that for iffy?!![/quote]

I just cut an outfielder for no reason other than my starting SS is on injured reserve.

I’ve got a question that I hope you guys who’re more experienced at this stuff will answer for me. I know we’re in the season…but…
my catcher is okay but not great.
There’s a catcher I’m thinking of who plays once every 5 days…but he usually does pretty well as far as hits etc, and he’s a pinch hitter at times. Since we’re going by weekly totals, how much difference would that make v. an every day player?

I need a GOOD outfielder : )

A catcher who plays every 5 days wouldn’t be a bad idea because you can put him in for that one day and then bench him the rest. In case you didn’t know (I didn’t), you can change your players everyday. So, if your backup outfielder (Encarnacion) is playing and one of your starters (Damon) isn’t, you can switch them for that day. hint hint

Well, in this league it could make quite a difference because of all the “raw stats” you lose out on from a more daily player, such as POs, Assists, hits, RBIs, etc. (as opposed to average stats like Batting Avg., SLG%, OPS, etc.) Those platoon players are such pains for fantasy purposes.

True, but the one thing you need to be careful of is you get a max of 162 games at any position for batters. Just be careful not to over-rotate players because then you might have a few weeks left in the season and be maxed out at SS. If you 100% know when a player is going to be playing off of platoon, you can switch it up… but that is a hard guessing game.

you’ve got a pretty good handle on my roster there…

Thanks guys.

boonville, I just sent you a trade offer.
Just something to think about.

You totally lost me.

Nevermind, I got it. Rotating players is a bad idea.

LOL, sorry about that the first time. Even when I posted it, I was wondering if I was making any sense. Rotating can be OK when done judiciously is my point and catchers might be the best example of where it can be done. Most catchers are in the 130-145 game range over the course of a year anyway, so you will not hit the 162 game mark with them if you left the same catcher in every day.

I hope that was clearer than my other post…

Vroom, you bastard…I’m in need of a quality closer to shut down your run.

Hey, you forgot the Thunderbirds. Which is understandable, seeing as how I’m 17th. I need some damn sticks!

Again, if I’m reading the rules correctly, I don’t believe the above information is correct. Under “Default League Configuration” there is a 162 games max. per position for the rotisserie leagues, but there is no max. for the head- to-head leagues. Also there is a 1250 innings pitched max. in the rotiserrie leagues and no max. in the head-to-head leagues.

Does anyone know what the rules are regarding this in the T-Nation league? I did’nt see anything under “league settings” so I’m assuming the default league configuration applies.

Thanks
