Mica,

I saw your offer, not good enough, but it can be the start of trade discussions.
Where are you lacking the most? It looks like you need a releiver. I’ll send an offer and see what you think.

I sent you a trade offer, as well.
Chevette! Hah, I get it…

I need a bit of strategy advice.

Since we have to have a minimum of 7 innings pitched per week, would it make more sense to be heavy on starters to ensure getting the seven?

Or - should you go heavy on the relievers since they will have more appearances per week than a starter would?

I’m about 50/50 on my SP/RP mix, but Hitting the 7 inning mark may hard to do if I have crappy starters - i.e. they get knocked out early.
Since we are playing against each other next week in the first “game”, I am withholding offering you with any strategy advice until AFTER that week. lol $300 in Biotest goodies can certainly turn a man quick, eh?

Where did all the love go? I can tell that I am playing against a bunch of supp-whores. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

FYI - I think I’m going to start a new thread whenever the posts start spilling past the second page. I think this thread has the potential to get really big and clunky - especially since it’s not even opening day yet and we’ve already filled up 4 pages.

Is that okay with you guys?

Hmmm. Will answering that divulge my strategy? Not sure if I can answer… must… win… supplements!

ahem Sorry about that.

I think a new thread is a good idea every once in a while. I think maybe we have a new thread each week? I think we have so many postings right now because people have a lot of questions about how this whole sucker is gonna work.

Kuz

I was thinking that this thread was so big becasue of all us newbies asking questions.

I’ll start a new thread after Week 1 and will start a new one whenever it gets more than two pages long.

One hint, that’s all I’m asking.

Well, two pages might be a bit short, but hey, it’s your league… now, about that waiver I have pending…

What’s the deal with injured players scoring points?
I’ve got Wade Miller and he won’t be pitching for the Bo’ Sox until May.
Should I keep him in or bench him?

Bench him till he’s back in the rotation. He won’t get you any stats if he’s not playing… Unless you are playing against me- then you should put every injured player on your roster in the lineup and bench the healthy players…

YOu have to decide if he’s good enough to occupy a spot on your bench that you might want to use for someone who can score for you when your starters aren’t coming up in their teams’ rotations during your match-up.

You can take your chances and waive him, and someone else might think he’s worth the bench spot.

But all this assumes we don’t have an IR spot? Is that right? I can’t check because I don’t have anyone designated as injured right now.

There is one spot for a player on the DL (disabled list, for those who might not know).

I think he should waive him, and do it quickly.
There’s no room in this league for injured players.

Nice try Joe…

I think Yahoo! lets you know probable starters a few days ahead of time, so just check to see if your boys will be throwing that week. If not, you can use more of the general pitcher slots for relievers.

I am too much of a softy.

AND DAMN YOU TO WHOMEVER TOOK SCOTT KAZMIR AWAY FROM ME ON WAIVERS! You are a veddy, veddy baaad maaan.

Thanks for your previous help regarding waiver claims. If its any consolation, I had two claims in, one for Kazmir and one for Danny Haren.

I have another question. Is there an etiquette regarding trade vetoes. Are they generally unopposed unless they’re perceived to be blatantly one sided?

Thanks

Yes - do unto others; if you wanted to trade you wouldn’t want someone vetoing it just b/c they don’t want either side to benefit.

Flaxseedoil,

Good luck w/Giambi - I hope his “intestinal parasite” doesn’t plague him again this season. I was hoping to add him to my roster, that way all of my players may be potential busts.

Stupid fucking autodraft, I always get shafted - hey, drafter, thanks for Jeff Conine, he aughta help me out a ton. Maybe he’ll have a career year at the ripe old age of 39! Good thing I just dropped him for Luis Gonzalez (keeping with the potential busts).

I might even change my team name to the “Boonville I hope my players can make it through the entire season-ERS”

Speaking of dropping players, when do the roster changes take effect, I’m still seeing my old players?

Your roster moves show up for the next day’s roster. It is an odd quirk of Yahoo, but if you looked at your team for April 2nd, you should see your players in the proper spots.

so who wants to help a brother out and explain what’s happened so far?
My team’s winning, just now, even though only 2 guys on it did anything yesterday (well…PLAYED yesterday, did anything might be a stretch, huh Johnny Damon?).

I think the score is an ongoing tally of which of the two teams is leading in each statistical category. Each category is worth 1 point. At the beginning of the week, you might not have any scoring at all in any of the categories, in which case neither team gets a point. The final score is tallied at the end of the week.

I presume all scores at the end of the week will add up to 30 (we have 15 categories for each of pitchers and batters, right?).
