I’m sorry, but if you look back I have dibs on 2020!

Not that 45 is old, but you look awesome for any age, let alone 45. Great job, dude. Your waist shrunk, arms grew, and those are some beefy triceps brah.

@Chris_Colucci awesome work man, you probably take the most by-the-book physique pictures on here, and it looks like pretty much all the weight you lost was in your midsection - can’t beat that.

I feel like if I just stopped drinking beer, then I would really have done well. But, that’s not really something I’m willing to do. As a fan of craft beers, there’s just so many great spots up here in NorCal that’s it’s just too enjoyable to give up or cut back. I’m a big hazy IPA fan, but recently have been enjoying sours (which I used to hate). Actually, I think it surprises people that I can be pretty fit and strong at 45, and still drink beer and eat pizza and ice cream regularly.

(I don’t mean to give the wrong impression - I drink maybe 2-4 beers 1-3 times per week. I eat pizza and have ice cream maybe 1-2 times a week. Other than that, I’m pretty dialed in).

Ok I took some photos post holiday. I started this at 87.8kg and was 81.8kg this morning. I did get at low at 80kg before holiday but doubt i looked much different. These shots aren’t going to win this but that’s not why I did it. I did it cause I wanted to prove to myself I could lose the weight if I wanted to and I did. I also did it with 2 days of weight training a week and very little cardio. Next year I will have to try harder.

Suffice to say my focus was not on fat loss. I’m still pushing the weight and making good gains, in both strength and size. Next year, when I eventually diet down, I’m confident the progress will really show

Those quads and forearms are insane! Good job, mate

Thanks mate I really appreciate the positive feedback. I’ve always had good forearms, dad has called me popeye since I was about 17. I put it down to 6 years of playing tennis as a junior but it’s probably just genetics. Quads however have never been a strong point. Squatting twice a week has deff helped.

So this is where I’ve ended up. I’m lighter, my strength is up, and I defensively brought up my quads a bit as planned. I’m right at 190 this morning. all my powerlifts are up with much better technique thanks to better quad strength. I’ll really get to see where I am in 2 more weeks at the end of my peaking block, but that’s too late for this. Most importantly both of my children are still alive and my 6 month old will be sleeping in his own room here at some point.

I think your shoulders have gotten bigger man. Lats are either bigger or waist is smaller (it just looks like the ratio has improved haha). Definitely progress to be proud of

Might as well post my after pictures. Won’t be much progress in 7 days lol. I’m excited to have made progress but a little depressed at the same time. My diet really fell apart for the last few months, I could only imagine how much better it would be had I been strict all 6 months.

Edit: pictures taken downstairs and that door leads to the garage… kids keep the carpet nice and dirty :joy:
