My cousin does standing ab wheel with his hands behind his back.
Late edit, puss perspective:
Some times people get their backs irritated by the ab wheel. Some times It can be a tough one “feel.” Maybe not always the best one to start off with.

What does it say about me that I automatically sang that in my head to ‘Killing In The Name’?
It says that you got the reference I was making, haha.
The more I think of it through, the easier it would be to make this song happen…
This is such a great exercise. It takes a bit to work up to, but doing standing ab roll outs is badass.
Progression for those interested:
An equally great workout is if you have gymnast rings. Put them only about 6" from the floor and hold plank. Then do fall outs, with your extended position being that of standing ab wheel roll outs.
I first got abs by doing continuous core with planks as my “rest” and switching every min. Example would be crunches, plank, russian twist, plank, leg lift, plank. Started with 3 mins and worked up to 12 mins.
Granted that was 4 years ago and I doubt I could do more than 3 mins now. My abs always come back when I lose weight though, just kill them for a couple months and they’re permanent!
I first got abs by getting under 11%. I use the plural form of abs generously, I’ve been at single digits 2 or 3 times in my life. I have 3 abs. It’s weird. One is basically a crescent moon next to the other two. Genetics are weird. Not mine. Just genetics in general.
That you don’t do CrossFit or you would have sang “Kipping in The Name”…
I can’t do them without my hamstrings cramping.
Alsruhe does gymnast ring ab exercises all the time. I’m happy to get kneeling rollouts to work.
Nobody doing hanging leg raises? First goal of ab training for me is “prevent hernias”. I’m still too fat to see the abs lol.
Guys if I have abs can I also be around 16+ bodyfat? I have a friend who says Im around 16-20.I have clearly visible abs when flexed and lines when not. I dont think my abs are overdeveloped either because I only train them once a month if lucky. Im also 185 at 5ft’8 if that helps at all. Recent picture is on my log(Unflexed).
Does your friend have x-ray vision? If no, how can he measure your visceral fat to be able to determine your bodyfat percentage?
If yes, why isn’t he out FIGHTING CRIME!?
He made an estimate. He also thinks hes around 13% while having like a billions veins across arms, legs, chest and triceps. I was wondering if hes right and I am close to 20 and therefore should cut.
On your visceral fat? Did he employ some sort of sonar based system, where he screamed at your midsection and let the echo determine how much visceral fat you held?
By looks man. All Im asking is if its plausible that I could be 16%+.
Banshee, upon discovering he needed a day job.
And I’m saying that’s a worthless method to employ because you cannot determine the amount of visceral fat someone is holding by looking at them, which, in turn, means you can’t determine how much bodyfat someone has by looking at them. Which, in turn, we are also all limited by the same constraints.
Do you think your friend threw out a number that would make you a little fatter than him, just to mess with you?
Next time you see him, tell him he looks thin and ask if he’s loosing weight.
Im alot fatter then him it just seems that hes overestimating our BF percentages, he looks like hes stage ready yet keeps on saying hes only 13-15.
Why is having a number to attach to your body fat percentage important to you? What does it achieve?
While I normally agree with this statement, it is helpful to know if you are using a math based approach to hit your goal. I know I like how I look at 11%, and if I am starting at 18% I can roughly work backwards from those two numbers and my LBM to figure out how many weeks I need to diet at 1 lb a week to hit my goal assuming linear progress. It can also help with that last part, identify if I stall in that plan. As a standalone measuring stick, yeah, pointless.
