Official 2018 T-ransformation Announcement Thread

In your Jan 2 post you said that biggest change would be food prepping/planning. Given your great results in six months, is this what did it for you?

Sadly, no. My diet has been pretty poor, only getting back to some solid footing in the past month. However, I actively chose to skip foods rather than eat junk. I also started attending a boxing and a Muay Thai class, so I’ve added a few hours of cardio a week.

Didn’t have many after pics from last year’s competition as it was a very busy time for me, but I’ve replicated the 1 picture I did submit. Going the opposite way to most, up around 25lb.

Side by side from last year,

I know there is no way I’ve gained 25lb of lean mass in a year but I’m happy that a decent amount of it isn’t fat!

Thick guy!

Your lats have come a long way and I have always been jealous of your medial delts. Solid work mate.

Before and afters:

Start of competition

This morning

Was hoping for a bit better. Mid-feb to Mid-April was derailed a bit. Got it together towards end of April to now.

My weight started at 227. Then went to 242 in April and ended today at 219. I’m gonna keep cutting down until July 1. Then start building again.

Is that a smattering of abs I see? Nice work!

Why just until July 1st? Why not keep going until full on 6 pack?

Dude you have definitely ā€œbeefed upā€, another year or two of that kind of progress would be nuts

Couldn’t get to the same mirror I took my first photos in. But I got a few done elsewhere.

@raoh1990 thanks, not sure I can be classed as thick at barely 80kg but I will take it!

@Irishman92 thanks, lats have certainly come along nicely. My main back movement previously was chins, this year I’ve switch my focus to horizontal pulling mainly because for a long period I didn’t have anywhere to chin. Having limited exercise choice and limited weight I have really needed to dial in the form and progression, the way I db row now seems to hit my lower lat more.

@Lonnie123 I’m happy with how this year has gone, I’m not the heaviest I’ve ever been but I’m certainly the heaviest I’ve been whilst not looking pregnant!

Whatever you are doing is working! Great job!

Is there a Sexiest Socks sub-category? Because if there is, the rest of y’all can go home–Flip’s got it sewn up.

I think it’s awesome that you gained that much weight and basically look just as lean. That’s crazy impressive. I’d be willing to bet you’re filling out t shirts and stuff much more than you did previously. That’s where I tend to notice my own progress the most, the way clothes fit.

I might, it’s tempting, but my baseball season just started and I hate to suffer while trying to perform well.

@flipcollar although some of my clothes are seeming a little tighter the muscle I’ve gained is pretty evenly spread so it’s not a dramatic physique change. Back traps and posterior chain have seen the most improvement. The magic of keeping it simple, I challenge everyone who is stuck in a rut to switch to training from home with minimal equipment, I’ve learnt a lot.

Sorry to interrupt the fashion talk, but it’d be better if you all shifted the Joy of Socks to a new thread so we can keep this one more on track in the final days.

Really great to see the pics coming in. Lots of solid work showing up.
