In your Jan 2 post you said that biggest change would be food prepping/planning. Given your great results in six months, is this what did it for you?
Sadly, no. My diet has been pretty poor, only getting back to some solid footing in the past month. However, I actively chose to skip foods rather than eat junk. I also started attending a boxing and a Muay Thai class, so Iāve added a few hours of cardio a week.

Didnāt have many after pics from last yearās competition as it was a very busy time for me, but Iāve replicated the 1 picture I did submit. Going the opposite way to most, up around 25lb.

I know there is no way Iāve gained 25lb of lean mass in a year but Iām happy that a decent amount of it isnāt fat!

Was hoping for a bit better. Mid-feb to Mid-April was derailed a bit. Got it together towards end of April to now.
My weight started at 227. Then went to 242 in April and ended today at 219. Iām gonna keep cutting down until July 1. Then start building again.
Is that a smattering of abs I see? Nice work!
Why just until July 1st? Why not keep going until full on 6 pack?

@Irishman92 thanks, lats have certainly come along nicely. My main back movement previously was chins, this year Iāve switch my focus to horizontal pulling mainly because for a long period I didnāt have anywhere to chin. Having limited exercise choice and limited weight I have really needed to dial in the form and progression, the way I db row now seems to hit my lower lat more.
@Lonnie123 Iām happy with how this year has gone, Iām not the heaviest Iāve ever been but Iām certainly the heaviest Iāve been whilst not looking pregnant!

I think itās awesome that you gained that much weight and basically look just as lean. Thatās crazy impressive. Iād be willing to bet youāre filling out t shirts and stuff much more than you did previously. Thatās where I tend to notice my own progress the most, the way clothes fit.

I might, itās tempting, but my baseball season just started and I hate to suffer while trying to perform well.
@flipcollar although some of my clothes are seeming a little tighter the muscle Iāve gained is pretty evenly spread so itās not a dramatic physique change. Back traps and posterior chain have seen the most improvement. The magic of keeping it simple, I challenge everyone who is stuck in a rut to switch to training from home with minimal equipment, Iāve learnt a lot.
Sorry to interrupt the fashion talk, but itād be better if you all shifted the Joy of Socks to a new thread so we can keep this one more on track in the final days.
