It’d be tricky. I know I had a rough time trying to screengrab a decent shot of Botslayer’s after video to do the comparison last year, and getting those comparison shots is key.
Posing isn’t really the point, but if you can remember to hold a good “relaxed” position for a legit second or two, I guess it’s possible, but it’s still a mild pain in the ass. I’m not really sure how a video is that much easier than taking a pic anyhow. Pretty sure most phone cameras have a self-timer option. I use a 10-count on mine. Set it up, press the button, and countdown to myself as I step back and get into position.

Will we need to hold a newspaper to prove we took the picture on that date? If not, it could simply be an old picture

WTF’s a newspaper…
Lol, seriously, if you need to cheat during a friendly online challenge you probably don’t have what it takes to win anyway.

Aye I’m all game on honesty. Last time I read into a transformation thing is when 1st Phorm did their annual competition (uhhh not sure if they still do it) and that was one of the requirements. Seemed like a good idea to me considering the winner get’s free shtuff

Count me in! Do I need to move /tag the training log I just started with T-ransformation 2018?
Also is it considered cheated to be relaxed in the before pic and ‘tense’ in the after pic?

Can i take the Before pic a few days earlier?
I will be away from the computer stuck in a car the 1st
The honor system is a thing.
We’re trusting everyone to, basically, not be dicks or try to scam the system. Take the pics in as relaxed a position as possible, preferably not playing the lighting (definitely not playing with Instagram filters) and not at the end of a 10-day vacation of cheese fries without training.
Some guys went with the right-after-lunch food baby before pic last year. It was meant to be light-hearted and goofy, but a legit and relatively “unscripted” before is the best bet. Ideally, the before and after’s should be under roughly the same conditions. A post-meal “before” and post-workout “after” can show drastic changes within the same day, nevermind over 20+weeks.
And take the before pic as reasonably close to Jan 1 as possible. There’s no reason why anyone would need to be further than a week out. It’s a simple snapshot. Everyone can take a snapshot of themselves at some point during the week prior to the 1st. Just make sure you get the pic posted on time - no later than the very end of day on the 1st.
As for proving the date with a paper, you can, but you don’t “need” to. Again, honor system. Worst case scenario, it backfires and ruins the challenge for everyone, so we stop doing it. Also, you’d be pretty much guaranteed to be publicly mocked and shamed, and banned.

Yep, tag it by editing the tag into the thread’s first post. It’ll help us keep a handle of who’s already in and aiming for it.

I’d like to get in on this as well! After Lurking for so long i think this is the prefect way to jumpstart my year and become active on the forum as well. Good luck everyone!

We’re at exactly T-minus 4 weeks and counting.
At my count, we’re up to 27 folks say they’re attacking it full throttle and 9 riding the fence with a maybe-possibly-wait 'n see.
We’ve got 16 training logs tagged for the challenge, a couple of logs from the folks who are in and weren’t up for tagging, and a bunch more people who said they’re in and totally won’t slip through the cracks while hoping we forgot about them.
Looking forward to more people jumping in over the next couple of weeks. The more the merrier… or, as merry as you can be on restricted calories.
Can’t wait to see what y’all bring to the table. Everyone pretty much have an idea of what approach they’ll be taking, or at least starting with, to get where they need to go?

Not a clue, but I’ve got 4 weeks to plan
I’m going to move off the fence and join in, will give my log the ol’ tag. Probably be just what I need to make sure I keep my diet and conditioning in check, the lifting part is easy to keep up with.
I’m going to be following 5/3/1 programming throughout the 6 months, and trying to add clean weight. If I can put on 10lbs and maintain my level of leanness now I’ll be happy, this is also a pretty realistic goal given where I’m currently at.

I’m slightly on the fence about this!
Last year I managed to get my weight down to 199.8lbs (or something close), which was my first time seeing under two-hundo in a couple years. If I’ve been doing anything right over this ‘off-season’ I’ve hopefully put on a few lbs of LBM (currently sitting at 214lbs). I intend on doing my first powerlifting meet this coming Spring (mid-transformation) and I’ve been trying to decide whether I should cut down to the 198lb class or fill out the 220lb class. Since this will be my first competition, I’m leaning towards the latter to not sacrifice any strength along the way and just get some sexy numbers on the board.
With that being said, my 2018 after picture could look a hell of a lot different than my 2017 after picture. Could be a 20lb difference between photos (hoping that it won’t be all fat), going for the Yury Belkin bod…and deadlift of course.

Im aiming to compete in my first Powerlifting meets this year, aiming to be in the 181, so I need to lose 20lb + by the time Christmas is over.
So training will be powerlifting, and diet will be Keto, the only way that works for me. High weight + low carb. Its worked before so hopefully it will work again.
Ambitious, I like it.
What level of leanness are you sitting at right now? I’m assuming the abs in your little avatar/pic isn’t your current physique?
I’ll try to clean bulk until late february, then I’ll slowly switch to a fat loss phase. This time no brutal diets, at least at the beginning… Maybe, if needed, I’ll make a push the last 3-4 weeks!
