Prof, do you know if he’s competing at the USAs or Nationals? Beastmode! He looks short in that second pic… does he get down to light heavy?

It absolutely baffles me that the difference between those two photos is only 40 lbs. He looks great in the first one and comicbook phenomenal in the second. 10 of those lbs must have been food he shat out that morning.
As for why he doesn’t get exposure, it must be the white socks. Can’t see any other reason.
Strongman Arild Haugen at age 21.
He went down to 115 kg for boxing, then said fuck it, I want to be big and lift big again, and shot back up to 152 kg. That’s 335 pounds. With abz.
Now he’s getting ready for a WSM qualification in Poland.
Had the great honour to train in his gym for a few weeks and ran into him, awesome guy, and has a dedication rarely seen in Strongman when it comes to diet. Say what you will about being ‘enhanced’ , the man has trained his ass off two times a day since he was 14 and eaten 8+ meals every 2 hours, getting up at night to eat, and working from 6 in the morning at a farm to pay the food bills. Anyone who says ‘yeah, he just uses x, y z’ should have to tell that to his face, in the ring.

He’s my height, 5’10". He last competed around 245lbs…which is fucking huge considering when he started back in 2000 he was hovering around 200-210lbs on stage.
The last show in 2009 that he did was the Atlantic city pro. I don’t know how he did.
Above is a pic from 2010 of his training session with Ron.
I am still stunned at the size of these guys arms. I have a lot more work to do.
JoJo didn’t do very well at the Atlantic city pro. ^^^
He was ranked 16th, tying with 5 other guys. When first reading this, I was very surprised, but looking at the pictures of the top five, and then those of JoJo, I can say the judges seemed to be scoring fairly.
1st place, Badell
2nd place, Yamagashi
Edit: I had links to each picture, but they were taken by the mods. A new rule violation I guess
3rd place, Alves
Tied for 16th, JoJo
Better luck next time big guy.
Now on to more off-season photos.

I think he looks more badass before dieting. But that’s me. “Fullhouse” > “Dieted Down” (IMO)
He’s got Ronnie type size during the offseason but he seems to lose it when he’s in contest shape.

It’s kinda funny, but he looks a lot bigger than 288. I was thinking low 300s.
Awesome pictures of bodybuilders are awesome and all, but seriously. Jojo’s waist ratio is out of this world in that picture.

21? Christ, wtf do they feed those kids over there? Cool to see someone who works all day and still has the dedication he has.

One of his quads is the size of his waist. God damn.

Every time anyone thinks about cutting, they need to take a look at this thread.

JoJo just got 15th at the Tampa Pro, so yah…not doing so hot.

Jeez…what a fucking monster!

I agree, but honestly even in these off season pics most of these guys are leaner than a lot of the people on this forum anyway (including me a lot of the time) lol

…which should be an indicator of how the rest of the competition was. I mean, if someone in this kind of shape can’t come in better than near last, I am not sure dieting down for competition is really worth it.
