When you claim you are a god, it is exactly what LaVey says about his followers in the Satanic Bible. If you were merely an athiest, you wouldn’t believe yourself to be a god.

Isn’t that right Mak?, Pookie? (resident athiests)

so what, right, wrong? explain. You still haven’t explained how your morals work.

I disagree so wholeheartedly with you but you say such interesting things. I rebuttal this by saying, You don’t worship God, you worship the written ideas of another man; via proxy - you worship another man. Somewhere in dead history your God still lives - through you and every other Christian. For that I am impressed. But the time has come to bury this old dog.

Why should we, the greatest men in history, settle for the jaded and withered illogical ramblings of eon old men? Is it not time for us to build something greater? I assure you, a new age in thought is only inches away.
LMAO Thank you…just…thank you.

No sir. It’s illogical and incredibly myopic to assume that YOUR religion is right and all others are wrong. After all, that’s the underpinning of Christianity.
That’s not what I posted. I’ll say it a different way for you. Just because they can’t all be right does not mean that they are all wrong. That is illogical on its face.

Of course it has. As long as man lives there will be evil perpetrated, as man is inherently flawed. But, while you say you are not keeping score it is important to note that more people have been killed by those who profess NOT to be Christian.

I disagree with your religion and now I worship devils? Come on… Now THAT is a leap of faith - ba dum tish!

Well doesn’t that sound like the “true faith” you described in your post above. Hypocrite. Where else would God be if not for that part of each of us that is Good? Are you not in touch with that place inside you that is intrinsically and irrevocably GOOD? Isn’t that God? Or is that just “the devil” playing tricks on us lol?
I don’t think that’s God. I think that’s merely some good which shows through in all of us inherently evil people.
No offense Zeb, but who cares “what you think”? You’re indoctrinated into your dogma, I’m a free thinker. You think I care “what you think” - no offense. But bet you I can find scripture to support what I said if you allow me to go to apocryphal scriptures. Oh wait, MAN decided which would be included in the Good Book…I guess God guided that Council too. Yup.
Then go to apocryphal scriptures and share it with me, if you feel that you are correct. However, I am quite certain man is inherently evil. Aside from the Christian Bible being quite clear on that, one only need look at a brief history of the world to determine which way man slides when given power. Even a free thinker like you can understand that.

But do check the apocryphal scriptures and be sure to point out to me where they contradict man being inherently evil.

hahahaha.

So, do you disagree with all religions or just Christianity. I mean, what about Buddhism? did you ever learn about Buddhism and what it teaches? or are you just an athiest who likes to follow logic?

edit- never mind, i re-read the last line in your last post…you disagree with any divinity, right?

And if you’re an athiest, great, but why all the anger toward those who are religious?

We are all religious. Atheists and theists alike. Man has a need for dogma, no man is immune. Some, such as atheists, have religion of the mind; some like Christians have religion of the church. Not believing in a God does not mean one does not have religion.

I dislike all manifestations of weakness - Christianity is a projection for mental weakness. It irks me. Many religions irk me. The Buddhist faith is not an exception.
Deorum wrote:

why would you call Buddhism a manifestation of weakness?

What exactly do you think you know about Buddhism anyway?

It surely does not seem like an “easy” religion to me.

Sounds like somebody read a little Nietzsche and suddenly has all the answers. Also, dude, in all honesty, please work on your fucking grammar and sentence structure. Your shit is painful to read. Did you really equate measurements of distance (inches) with measurements of time (history, age) earlier? That’s a hypothetical question, by the way. You obviously did do exactly that and I’m sure you have no idea why it’s wrong because you are retarded and don’t understand sentence structure. How the fuck are you ever a unit of distance away from a measure of time? Oh fuck, looks like I’m thirty feet from 2 o’clock, better hurry up. All your attempts at making witty/educated commentary reveal that you are neither witty nor educated. Seriously, if you can’t even coherently type your ridiculous arguments you might need to reassess some things.

That was not even a Nietzsche reference… However, Nietzsche was an exceptionally bright man. Can you please let go of the grip you have on my penis though? Cute “I HATE DEORUM!” rant by the way. My advice: make your own thread where that is the topic.

Edit: I actually read the rest now… AND BOY I’M GLAD I DID!!! Well lemme explain this for you, its called a METAPHOR!!! DAMN MAN THANKS FOR POINTING THAT OUT! I’M EVER SO GLAD YOU MADE SURE I CLARIFIED THAT!!! GREAT ADDITION TO THIS TOPIC! YOUR SO SMART!!

You cannot be asking me to go in depth as I am with Christianity are you? I can make a few statements on my thoughts of Buddhism in general…

Buddhism is a religion of abstinence. Religiously avoiding man’s nature does not make him the master of it - it makes him the slave of it. The Buddhist prides himself on being able to endure suffering while living - a very masochistic religion. This is not a logical way to conquer pain and negative emotions, they are approaching a fight backwards. That is my main beef with Buddhism anyway - the rest I don’t care enough about to really know much about.

Another thing, weakness is not always taking the easy path(as you alluded too).

Your logic is not only tortured, but it is disingenuous to boot. If they aren’t all right, then by default, all are wrong except one. Of course everyone, including you, think they are part of the right one.

It is not important to say who killed more. Murder is murder. Can’t we judge a thing by its works? Doesn’t your bible say that?

That man slides to evil as you say is a big fucking lie. This world has always had competing religions and beliefs, among them pagan. Ultimately, society, man kind, have always evolved and continue to form a better world, in spite of the fact that each religion thinks it’s the right religion, intermixed with all the non-believers in the world. In spite of this, mankind advances and becomes more compassionate. We aren’t without troubles, but if you don’t believe me, do a brief research of life 300 years ago compared to today. This advancement in mankind cannot be attributable to the competing religions of the world.

God in man:

http://youngfoundations.org/blog/20093710

The above are Christian musings. I am not going on a bible study mission to start giving you scriptures. And Christianity is not the only religion that acknowledges God within man. So what is it again I said that is so outrageous?

This kid’s killing me, too, with his “stellar” command of English:

You rationed with yourself, "I’m going to die anyway…

This is all making me wish I had time to sit down and craft exhibit C as I already know the gist of it and these are intrinsic themes being discussed right now…

I rebuttal this by saying, You don’t worship God,

Everybody makes mistakes, but not THESE kinds when you act like such a supercillious ass.

Kid’s got serious problems… and I don’t mean just linguistically.

Did I not say earlier that they would fall to semantics? Though the semantics of grammar was even lower than my expectations for them… A horribly weak intellectual response… I am truly, honestly disappointed… Not much is being asked or added to this argument to merit my response at all anymore. On that I think it would be better to just sit back and watch you guys debate as in that scenario at least intellectual conflict is occurring - assuming our fingers aren’t in our ears as we scream.

For today at least, I view god as the man made exaltation of the ideal man. It is his model for living. In that I can see why the weak express a need for another man’s model. I like to practice as I preach - I am my own god… Or at the very least I have a god of my own creation… Not far apart from this God in man concept.
