Oblivious People

After asking her if she could somehow control her dogs, she acted very offended, told me to f*ck off, and had a couple of other nice comments.

So, Every Saturday and Sunday at 9:oo in the morning, before I went out for my bike ride, I would put Slayer on and turn it all the way up(700 watts), Then leave for a few hours as Seasons In the Abyss shook the dust off of my cones.

After about a month of this I asked her again, and she was a lot more cooperative.

Sometimes you just have to be a bit coercive.

Most Excellent

Punch the fucker in the throat and tell him you were just sharing an idea for training his dog and if it doesn’t work you’ll be back tomorrow with another “idea”.

Not very practical, but very satisfying mentally.

I actually had this sort of thing happen with my neighbor, the son of a bitch bit me one day over the fence. I had a nice discussion with the guy and he said he would get rid of the dog. Okay. He didn’t follow thru. 3 months later I told him firstly his word as a man pretty much means shit and mowing season is here again and I am gonna carry a baseball bat while I mow the fence and if that fucker comes over the fence I’m gonna send his head over the roof 3 doors down. I guess he decided to do the right thing cause the dog is gone.

And you folks are right, its really not the dogs fault, but I don’t have time for ethics when the bastard is keeping me awake, biting me or threatening my kids or the neighbor kids.

I do that, but I stay in the room.

For neighborhood warfare, I recommend Meshuggah’s Elastic. The last 6 minutes are nuts.

OKAY REALLY… i hate dogs… yes i hate them… so make sure u coat the chocolate in anti-freeze.

(Totally kidding, don’t do it cause you know deep down inside it is not right! And what goes around comes around!)

I like that idea, but our houses are spaced too far apart. My idea of just calling his house or ringing his doorbell everynight was along the same lines. His dog wakes me up, I wake him up.

The weird thing is that he has a newborn baby. That dog HAS to be keeping the kid up.

The other idea I had was to just sneak over there one night and let the dog out. Cut the lock on the fence and let it run free. Buh-bye, doggie.

Sure he can. Strike at the root of the problem, simple solution.

Exactly, kill the owner and save the dog!

He is a Marine. I am sure he can kill anyone he wants.

I thought about that. The guy is a big, fat redneck guy with man boobs (he answered the door that night in his underwear, gross) who probably wouldn’t put up much of a fight.

I completely agree with you 100%. It’s a sign of the times.

The lack of quality time today’s adults recieved as their parents were busy working and/or pursuing careers and the like, a lot of people don’t have a strong foundation for interpersonal values and ethics, accountability to the next person, etc., as less time was able to be given to them to teach these values. The foundation for values starts at the very beginning, at home, with the parents and nuclear family.

Also, sorry to sound a bit jaded, but my theory is all the amphetamine-type drugs that have been epidemic to this country have fried a lot of peoples’ brains and also their sense of empathy/others, and it’s so evident now. Case in point the Craig Titus murder case and other bizarre things around the country…the crime rate is up, more people have bad psychiatric disorders because of organic or secondary reasons, domestic violence and child abuse are up, single parenthood is epidemic, substance abuse is epidemic, etc… People have a lack of a sense that we’re connected to one another. Another example of that is the divorce rate and families breaking up, neighbors fighting with one another or not even associating with each other.

I also believe it’s a sign of our materialistic culture in the land of plenty. There’s much less of a sense of COMMUNITY in a lot of American towns and cities. I feel the pain of this when I hang out with friends from second and third world countries who have emmigrated here. They naturally are community-oriented, considerate of others, will see their neighbors moving heavy items and will run over to help them, will cook extra food and bring it to their elderly neighbors’ houses and spend time with them, etc., much more than I’m used to. It reminds me of how much American society has lost in terms of Community.

I hope not to offend anyone. But the breakdown and near loss of the concept of Community of the whole of society affects everyone and I believe is one of the main causes that society has become so interpersonally selfish.

I know what you mean china. And here might be one of the causes. Or an effect?

My nearest neighbors are quite a good distance away — and they’re rich and travel a lot. Most peaceful place I’ve ever lived.

Yeah, but if you get caught doing that, you are going to be in some serious trouble.

I don’t think it’s worth it. I understand you aren’t gettin’ any sleep but there has to be a different way of dealing with this.

In my opinion, you made a mistake in going over to talk to him because now every time the cops come, he will think it is because of you (even if it’s not). If he’s a psycho, it could get ugly. I’d prefer just calling the cops and letting him guess who called.

That said, a similar situation happened to me. I had a neighbor whose small yard was separated from mine (also small) by a 3 foot high chain link fence. My daughters were 2 and 4 at the time, and I put up a swing set about 6 feet from the fence. We played on it nearly every day. All was well until he suddenly decided to take up hunting …with dogs. He poured a 5 x 10 foot concrete slab and surrounded it with more chain link fence directly against my yard (6 feet from my kids’ swing set), then filled it with 5 (yes, FIVE) hound dogs! We literally could not step foot in our own back yard for any reason without a non-stop chorus of hound-dog vocals, accompanied of course by the unbelievable stench that 5 hound dogs are bound to make when you don’t clean their kennel at least twice a day.

I moved the swing set to the other side of the yard after a day or two, but it was still unbearable. Lucky for me, we sold the house within a month of this, so I didn’t have to say or do anything. Surprisingly, the new owner had no problem with it. Still, what a moron!

Man, that mad me mad just reading it. I can imagine your anger and frustration. Luckily, I too will be moving soon. Not because of him, but I’m transfering to San Diego.

Hmmm, I’d hold off on killing the owner then.

New idea: Steal the dog and send him to me in PA. Free dogs are awesome, especially if they’re taken from assholes.

I usually don’t agree with lumping a certain group of people into the asshole category. I know a whole lot of assholes (possibly myself included) and a lot of them are drug-free churchgoers from rich, “loving” families. I’m just gonna go with people are assholes.

I’ll check them out.

I need some new music for squat days.

I moved out of there in June. In my new place there was only a brief incident of territorial pissing, and that was resolved pretty easily.

No coersion necessary.

PGJ, you are talking about the thing that annoys me most. I cannot stand the lack of concern for others by people. I seem to notice extreme rudeness and lack of concern for others when driving.

I really think people drive me nuts with their self centered ways.

That was Catty:)

In a thread about oblivious and inconsiderate people, I’ve heard suggested that the dog be killed; and the OP has suggested that he “let the dog go” - likely into the street where he’ll be run over and die a painful death.

Douchebags.

Awwwwwwwwww…please don’t do anything to the innocent doggie!

Have you no sense of humor? If this thread offends you, you better find another forum.
