Don’t concentrate on law when considering if this is enforceable. It is not meant to be enforceable. This is intended to create compliance through fear of selective prosecution. It uses the legal system as a threat.
It is very much like what we in NY have been dealing with in the SAFE act. The wording is ambiguous and left somewhat undefined to scare prospective buyers and sellers into compliance. From the perspective of Obama and prosecutors, sure your not breaking the law, but are you prepared to have your life ruined proving it in court?

I actually think Obama just wants to get a cheap victory (virtually every straight news article I read on the topic point out that it’s incredibly easy to overturn and is virtually unenforceable as it’s written) out of something that really does bother him.
I think he just wants to be able to say in the future that he did “something”.

Not to hijack/distract the thread, but I believe a large reason for the character minimum is to encourage members to post well-thought-out, or at least reasonably-thought-out replies, rather than one or two word zingers that don’t contribute much to the conversation.
If a post is worth making, it’s almost certainly going to be more than four words anyhow. PWI, out of all the forums, should be able to appreciate that.
I wonder if what we say here or over the phone that the NSA picks up, is part of our background checks? If so, I am fucked. I’d get thrown out of a gun shop for some of the things I have said.
The good news to all of this is I live in GA. If any state is going to tell obama to stick it in his ass, it’s GA.
My guess is we will become the ‘sanctuary city’ for gun owners. GA won’t openly defy the President or make a big stink on the news, we just won’t obey and continue with business as usual. I GA, they don’t give you a permit, they give you a license. That’s your big background check. Once you have that, you can buy as many guns as you want any time you want, just like your buying a pack of smokes. Pick the gun, present the license, pay and leave. Our gun laws are the best part of our state. Our traffic is the worst part of our state.

I have seen blood curdling stupidity on those supposedly more heady dedicated places. Like, you don’t want to participate because the stupid is so thick, you can’t get even get to making a point. We have our weak moments here, but largely smart well spoken and educated people. Who woulda thunk from a bunch of meat heads, huh?
