Yes, and we’re interested in the relative quantities of the number in each.

The New York Times raises the question:

Of course, as most Americans understand it, Senator Obama is not a Muslim. He chose to become a Christian, and indeed has written convincingly to explain how he arrived at his choice and how important his Christian faith is to him.

His conversion, however, was a crime in Muslim eyes; it is “irtidad” or “ridda,” usually translated from the Arabic as “apostasy,” but with connotations of rebellion and treason. Indeed, it is the worst of all crimes that a Muslim can commit, worse than murder (which the victim’s family may choose to forgive).

With few exceptions, the jurists of all Sunni and Shiite schools prescribe execution for all adults who leave the faith not under duress; the recommended punishment is beheading at the hands of a cleric, although in recent years there have been both stonings and hangings. (Some may point to cases in which lesser punishments were ordered - as with some Egyptian intellectuals who have been punished for writings that were construed as apostasy - but those were really instances of supposed heresy, not explicitly declared apostasy as in Senator Obama’s case.)

Beheadings, stonings, and hangings for leaving Islam? Huh. I thought it was a religion of peace that allowed for freedom of conscience.

[EDIT: This is not an Obama-bashing thread. It was put up for illustration of some of the more uncomfortable facts of Islamic law. ]

whats your point? there are crazy people doing things in the name of every religion. Look at every white power militia in the US, all Christians. Lebanese Forces in Lebanon, Christian. Absurd numbers of Christian militias in Africa shitting everywhere along with Muslim ones.

so much for your religion of peace.

You’ve posted twice on this site and happened to find this thread, huh?

and?

I just find it interesting that you’re only two posts have involved threads about Islam. Both of your posts have spewed the typical Islamic tu-quoque and lies.

Funny how all the Muslims on this site are the same. [/quote]

what in my post has anything to do with Islam? the entire thing is about Christianity…

i find that amusing, given ive been an agnostic virtually my entire life.

You show up out of the blue with 2 posts on threads about Islam, spout moral relativism and tu-quoque, and call me a troll. Good stuff. Very good stuff indeed.

These “christians” you speak of, aren’t following the commands of the Bible, however the “crazy” muslims appear to be doing what their religion teaches. So I can’t give you much credit for the whole “every religion has crazies” since technically these christians you speak of arent christians at all.

I see you aren’t very familiar with either religion, then.

The penalty for wearing a poly-cotton blend is death. By stoning.

From Leviticus which is OT not NT.

Edit: That was in the Old Covenant, so the death and ressurection of JC abolished it. Plus that commandment was for a specific group of people, not all christians.

Yeah, Hillary won’t put on a Burqua, even if it would get her the votes in Dearborn.

One of the main tenants of Islam that separates it from other Abrahamic Religions is that Muhammad was the LAST prophet.

Obama was too busy with his crackpipe to worry about Islam:

"Cocaine
Long before he ever ran for political office, Obama wrote a book about, well, himself, and his amazing his journey from messed up kid to, um, himself. It was quite an epic, considering he was 34 at the time.

In that book, called “Dreams From My Father”, he writes that he used marijuana and cocaine (“maybe a little blow”.) Oddly enough, he writes that he didn’t try heroin because – wait for it – he didn’t like the pusher who was selling it. (Weren’t there any other reasons?) In a later interview, he added “Teenage boys are frequently confused.”

He WOULD have done heroin too if he ‘had liked the dealer’? And this shitbag is going to be our next POTUS? OMG.

Actually, that’s the claim of Christianity as well - that Jesus was the last prophet. Actually, it goes quite a bit beyond that - he is prophet, priest, and king - he is God in the flesh.
