Obama Pursuing Amnesty!

Because he only wanted to visit the white house for 4 years.

The Obama administration will insist on measures to give legal status to an estimated 12 million illegal immigrants as it pushes early next year for legislation to overhaul the immigration system, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said on Friday.

In an address at the Center for American Progress, a liberal policy group in Washington, Ms. Napolitano sought to dispel any notion that the administration â?? with health care, energy and other major issues crowding its agenda â?? might postpone the most contentious piece of an immigration overhaul until after midterm elections next November.

Laying out the administrationâ??s bottom line, she said it will argue for a â??three-legged stoolâ?? that includes enacting tougher enforcement laws against illegal immigrants and the people who hire them, and streamlining the system for legal immigration, but also what she called a â??tough and fair pathway to earned legal status.â??

With unemployment surging over 10 percent and Congress wrestling with health care, advocates on all sides of the immigration debate had started to doubt that President Obama would keep to his pledge to take on the divisive issue of illegal immigration in the first months of 2010.

Congress should be ready to move forward on immigration, Ms. Napolitano said, because the administration had made a â??fundamental changeâ?? in security at the border and in cracking down on employers hiring illegal immigrants. She said that the Border Patrol had increased its forces by more than 20,000 officers, and that more than 600 miles of border fence had been completed, both milestones set by Congress.

â??Let me emphasize this,â?? she said. â??We will never have fully effective law enforcement or national security as long as so many millions remain in the shadows.â??

Under the administrationâ??s plan, illegal immigrants would have to register, pay fines and all taxes they owe, pass a criminal background check and learn English.

Ms. Napolitano has been leading the administrationâ??s efforts to gather support for the immigration overhaul, meeting in recent weeks with business leaders, faith groups, law-enforcement officials and other groups to gauge their support for the effort.

I saw you post this in another thread and I had a feeling you were going to start a new one.

Amnesty was a given. Too many new voters to pass up. Add the healthcare deal, and you’ve just purchased a voting bloc. Ah Democracy…Buying votes with other people’s money.

Edit: I think he overplayed his hand with this, as the timing is really bad. Really bad.

You know what I was thinking the US could really use in this era of Great Depression-level unemployment? 30 million more Mexicans flooding the low-wage/welfare dependent sector of the job market.

This has an even worse chance of passing than health care.

Maybe this is really a brilliant scheme to end illegal immigration. Think about it: Obama will arrange it so that our economy is too fucked for there to be an incentive to hop the border anymore.

Every fucking day, its like waking up to a new sad fucking joke.

No one. NOT ONE FUCKING PERSON I KNOW, thinks this is right or even a good idea. But no one has the balls in this PC fucking world to stand up and stop it.
The Latino bloc has so much power that they’ve even stopped San Fran from reporting the illegal status of FELONS from ICE.

Its to the point where I’m tempted to start stockpiling ammo and food. I already “own” the land…

You also have to consider the reasons why the government wants them here. Cheap labor of course, but they also pay into taxes with stolen Social Security Numbers, of which they can never access. Imagine how much money the government would lose if they actually paid the illegals the Social Security that is taken out of their bogus paychecks. This is why every since town, city, and state is a sanctuary place, because if you really want them gone, you scoop them up at every chance you get.

Also, birthright citizenship should be abolished.

Where are all the people who said he would never do this?

Don’t tell me all my liberal friends have left the board.

It’ll be a reality soon.

Also, instead of debating this on T-Nation, we should break out our calculators. (then debate it, lol)

If 12 million people pay a fine and all the taxes they owe, how much would that generate? Since it WILL happen whether we want it to or not, we might as well find out how that money could help the economy. The money could also be used to strengthen Homeland Security, but I think the administrations priority will be on the economy (since they’ve made it worse with their efforts so far)

I really do not give a fuck if there are immigrants here, I just want to get rid of the taxes.

It actually wouldn’t “generate” any taxes. They are not in tax brackets that pay taxes. This is what I keep trying to tell you people. Read Robert Rector’s report on immigrants: they are a net drain on public coffers by a 3:1 ratio, meaning for every dollar they pay in taxes, they take 3 from the public. This would not change by legalizing them. It would give them legitimate voting powers and make them someone’s babbling Mexican la raza constituency.

I would like to say that not all illegal immagrants are from Mexico. They are also from Middle Eastern countries, and they come in from Canada.
