Obama on The Daily Show

For a long time Stewart leaned far left and only criticized the right. Lately he has been much more moderate, taking time to point out hypocrisy on both sides of the aisle. He has also been reporting more on govt inefficiancy and fraud. The questions certainly could have been easier, and he even poked fun a few times such as mocking him with “Not to lump you in with others alike.”

One thing really stood out to me when he was asked if he saw the recession reaching the level it is at now. He stated something to the effect of “After I was inaugurated, my advisors told me I better enjoy this now, because 2 years from now we will be in terrible economic condition.” WHAT?!! Throughout 2009 the headlines were full of “Obama says economy is strong” and “Obama recommends investing in the stock market.” So his advisors warned him that we would be in this condition and he continued to deceive the American people with false hopes in an attempt to reinforce the economy. He continues this practice today by saying “We averted a great depression” and “Larry Summers saved the economy” all the while another round of foreclosures is being predicted by economists along with a stagnant economy. Presidents have been doing this for centuries. No change there.

Pittbullllll-You comment that the right is more vocal. Do you really believe that or are you being sarcastic?
There is some sarcasm , but look he is a Nazi, Socialist,Terrorist, Bad Christian Muslim , Gay and the vocal bullshit goes on and on . Yeah the right is being extremely load and brash

Um, then why is that a bad thing? Who doesn’t put the horse before the cart?
These kinds of posts, the ignorance, the epic struggles with the English language, the simple imbecility, are the very reason that pittbulll is the only poster at T-Nation I have or have ever put on ignore.

Even his screen name contains a typo.

Yes , I think the only way to make health care more affordable for all is to remove the profit
Sure, doctors will study 10+ years and go deep into debt without making a profit, pharma companies are going to develop new cures without making a profit, and the hospitals while be downright excellent when no one that is interested in profit goes into that field anymore.

It will all simply be awesome.

If you dont mind waiting lists, crappy standards, little choice when it comes to treatments and death panels we are doing great!

No really, you can talk to a doctor for all of 5 minutes after having waited 2-3 months!

But its free!
First you are totally exaggerating. It’s not that bad in most countries.

But the main point is this: It’s not like we don’t have private health care in Europe. If you want to pay for treatment, there are plenty of places to do so, should you want that. However if you can’t afford it, you are not fucked like you would be in the US. That’s the difference.
No one is screwed in the US. First of all the left like to say so many million do not have access to health care. This is a lie, anyone in the US can go to the ER for anything, legal or not. They even let you pay in small monthly payments. I do not agree with going to the ER for a cold, but people do it. There are also clinics that only charge like $40.00 to be seen, so you can not say people do not have access. You can say that there are some who just do not want to pay.

Of course not, but if some one has that kind of problen there are a lot of grants and other things that they can apply for. My father in law had to take chemo and he had no insurance, but through a series of grants he got the whole thing covered. People just havr to get off the butt, and do a little research.

“What Orwell feared were those who would ban books. What Huxley feared was that there would be no reason to ban a book, for there would be no one who wanted to read one. Orwell feared those who would deprive us information. Huxley feared those who would give us so much that we would be reduced to passivity and egoism. Orwell feared that the truth would be concealed from us. Huxley feared the truth would be drowned in a sea of irrelevance. Orwell feared we would become a captive culture. Huxley feared we would become a trivial culture, preoccupied with some equivalent of the feelies, the orgy porgy, and the centrifugal bumblepuppy.”

–Neil Postman, Amusing Ourselves to Death

“The book’s origins lie in a talk Postman gave to the Frankfurt Book Fair in 1984. He was participating in a panel on Orwell’s 1984 and the contemporary world. In the introduction to his book Postman said that the contemporary world was better reflected by Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World, whose public was oppressed by their addiction to amusement, than by Orwell’s 1984, where they were oppressed by state control.”

“A trivial culture.” “Addiction to amusement.” Beck, Colbert, Stewart, Coulter–an addiction for every trivial taste.

Yes I have noticed. And?

Stewart missed his chance! He should have taken a big smelly shit on a paper plate and then smashed it into Obama’s face. After he got out of prison, his popularity would be through the roof!!

its actually more sad than frightening from my wiew. Instead of making this nonsene up, they could have attacked him on real issues, like: afganistan. why dont more people react to the fact that theire taxmoneys are used and debt are created to blow people up in afganistan. Thats a real issue, but no lets make up some marxist/illumunati/bilgerberger/new world order conspiracy because the real world is to complicated.

If you dont recognize wikipedia, find me another objective article from a source you like better, but for know this will do. It clearly states that nazisme is not even close to marxism. It says what I have said on this forum all along that nazism and fascism are a mix of different ideologys with a rather strong racist and totalitarian streak. One point thats made in the article that I have read in my text in political philosophy, is that the nazi definition of socialism is very different from the the marxist one. If you ask I can qoute you the pharagraph from the textbook if you like.

Well, thank God real live “Marxian” socialism never had racist, totalitarian or anti-semitic streaks.

Who was it again who had 4 year plans and who had the 5 year plans?

I always seem to forget.

No, really, they were totally different.
