Exactly the opposit. You see, white people voted for him (obviously not racist, right?) for whatever reason. THEN after he started doing damage to this country and showing what a liar he is the whites looked at his substance/actions and decided he isn’t doing a good job. Black people however are approving of him STRICTLY because he is black, they aren’t looking at what he is doing, but simply going off the fact that he is black.
I will say though that its understandable(sp?) to stick with the first black pres. if you are black, I bet I would feel the same way. But again if they were loking at what he is (and isn’t) doing instead of the color of his skin, they would have a far smaller approval rate.
the whites are judging him by character, blacks by race. I dont dislike the dude, just basically 90% of his policies.
ok, now that I’m the officical bad guy of this thread…
There was some lady on O’Reilly last night claiming that the drop in his poll numbers is because white independent voters decided to get all racist against him. But, where was all their racism when they voted for him in the first place? This whole argument is so fucking ludicrous.
96% black approval = blacks approve based on race. Sorry, sad but true. Why? Because 96% of blacks aren’t democrats or liberals, so it doesn’t have anything to do with policy or party. It is pure race. And if that isn’t racism, I don’t know what is. Wasn’t it MLK who wanted people judged by the content of their character rather than the color of their skin? Some people should take that to heart.
I think 96% of blacks are democrats/liberals at least nominally if not active in politics. There was also record turnout because they thought they would finally have a politician who they weren’t invisible to, yes, because he has african heritage. So all those blacks who felt jaded about the political process came out of the woodwork to vote for him. These are more likely to be unemployed, underemployed, laborers etc, who were first time voters who have an interest in voting democratic, not more affluent or middle class blacks who arguably have an interest in voting republican.
In any case the vast majority of blacks align with the democratic party for better or worse.
