I’m curious about when the average opinion is about which is better and why in terms of a meal’s carbohydrate source.
I would think that oatmeal would have better nutrient value plus is tastes better.

There both good sources I prefer Oats as the high soluable fiber content etc etc. But for a complex carb pick your poison.

It depends:
Is it time for Breakfast… or Dinner?
For Lunch I mix them together!
I always do oatmeal for breakfast…I have a bulk pack of brown rice collecting dust on my shelf. Occasionally I have it PW, but usually I find something else.
I’m talking about dinner. Or later in the day at least.
I would prefer rice to oatmeal PW, just because it goes better with my typical PW meal, and because I don’t need oatmeal twice in one day. It’s really a matter of personal preference; like Phill said, pick your poison.

I would think most would choose oatmeal over the rice for the fiber content and what I would guess a slightly lower GI score.
Both heated and mixed with a few scoops of whey are delicious IMO but I’d have to go with the rice. Almost tastes like rice pudding.
They are both soluble fibre, so they don’t really digest until they reach the small intestine, and seem to have a comparable GI/GL score. A good cheap food source too.
