Oatmeal: BBing Staple or Not?

Oatmeal is the reason I will never do a keto diet again.

is the quick quaker oats any different nutritionally than the slow-cook stuff?

I’m talking about the big tin that’s right next to the big tin of slow-cook, not the little bags with a huge ball of sugar in them.

Yeah, I have always been eating Quick Cook Oats. I feel tempted to buy Rolled Oats/Steel cuts tmr when i go shopping.

Bump

Does anyone ever feel extremely sleepy after eating a bowl of oatmeal? I get this pretty often.

Every oatmeal thread that comes up I recommend Coach’s Oats. It’s like steel cut but cooks in 5 minutes.

why are steel cut oats more expensive if they are processed less?

When did Poliquin become god? When did any guru become god - especially when they have ZERO or limited academic training and education on nutrition. Poliquin has said some of the dumbest, flawed shit on nutrition.

A month ago, i found out that I was allergic to oatmeal. It wasnt a pretty sight for me…

Oatmeal, staple it to your stomach.

What?

I love oatmeal, I eat it 2-4 times a day. Either with my shakes or just with water with ground cinnamon, and sometimes NPB.

I suspect some of the nutrition is lost here…

like everyone else oatmeal is one of my favorite foods. sometimes i seem to stray away from the basics…but after reading this thread i plan on making oatmeal the cornerstone of my bulk. putting back on about 15 clean pounds of muscle by June 1st? I think so.

I don’t think dear old Charles advised against eating oatmeal.
He said that it became allergenic when consumed too often by his athletes.

He did mention that he prefers lentils and quinoa instead of oatmeal, but he also prefers to have a variety of carbs (oatmeal included).

I think it’s a conspiracy to keep people fat and unhealthy by making the most processed crap the cheapest… I bet the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry are in on this!

well god fucking damn it, if you all didnt convince me to get up 2moro and eat some fucking oats. thanks a lot.

mmm… im hungry… maybe ill have some… *leaves the compu

Its a whole grain with protien and fiber, what else do you need to know? Personally, to deal with the taste, ill mix the flavored quaker fruit & cream pouched with the same amount of regular quaker, so that i get a smaller ratio of sugar and the bad stuff.

For anyone who makes it with water, why not mae it with milk? more protien right? that is if you drink milk, i know some people avoid it like white bread.

I agree with a lot of others here its filling and i feel good from it
